Mommy's who have has c-sections two questions... first poo how long after did it take you and how did you make it happen? And how did you get the swelling to go away and how long did it take?
@ohnstadk I totally get it. I ballooned but I was warned thank goodness. It took a while for me. And softeners where my best friend. Don't stress. It will get better. But it sucks!
Day 2 pp for the poo with the help of stool softeners. I had a tremendous amount of swelling, I drank tons of water, put my feet up and put ice packs on my feet ankles and legs. I didn't think of it myself my hubby made my lay down for 3 days only to get up if absolutely necessary and put the ice packs on. After day three (which was about 2 weeks pp) my feet legs and ankles were almost back to normal size.
@sorcha regarding the swelling ugh....no really thought I would stop swelling after I wasn't pregnant... now it is even worse and believe me it was so so so bad before
@taylorsmommy1017 I got some over the counter, they gave them to me in the hospital, I had 2 small very liquid bms on day 2 after surgery and nothing since, but I've been taking stool softener since then
First bm I had was when I was still in hospital. So 1 or 2 days post c section. I was given softeners right away. And I had eaten during labour.... emergency c section.
After the first one I kept taking softeners until I felt no pain without pain killers.
Swelling took a long time for me. The first bit took almost two weeks. I think it was all gone by 8 or 10 weeks. I definitely still had some at 6 weeks. Lots of water is said to help reduce the swelling. My body apparantly didn't think it needed to reduce the fluid as much (maybe because I was nursing).
