Mamas.. have you guys ever taken a road trip with your little ones? How old were they, how long was the trip, and what were your tricks to keep them from being a cute little pain in the arse?
I do toronto to ottawa about 4 and a half 5 hours...With only dd, I timed around naps so that the bulk of the time she was asleep...then we moved to ottawa for good 3 months ago...and my son hasn't been for a long drive...they were super tired because they were up a while prior to leaving...but the last 2 hours were a disaster. But if you do decide to do it, I suggest maybe going a little before he's ready for bed so you can do most of the driving while he's asleep. How long will you be stopping on the way?
My parents and I moved from b.c. to ontario when I was 3, we drove a uhaul the whole way and I was in a car seat, as long as you can anchor it correctly it should be fine. Granted this was quite a few years ago but I'm sure not much as changed in uhaul seat design lol, good luck
@delamorena2121, oh man, 36 hours is way more intense then 4. If you have Facebook, there is a group called car seats for the littles that would be able to give you info on if a car seat could go in a uhaul.
@desert_chick, I potentially have a 36 hour road trip I might need to take cause I have to get my things across Canada. But I’m starting to get the feeling it may not be possible. Also.. I don’t think I’d be allowed to put a baby seat in a uhaul..🧐🤔 so... still kind of not sure what I’m going to do.
We did a 4 hour road trip awhile back. At the time kids were 8, 3, and 1. We pulled over every hour or so at some kind of rest stop or something for the kids to run a little a get a snack. We got lucky and they also slept in between stops.
