Birth control question—what’s the best contraceptive you’ve experienced?
*I’m a breastfeeding mother, so anything that won’t affect nursing my child.
I just got Nexplanon implanted about 3-4 weeks ago and I’m not liking it so much; looking into getting it removed and trying another. I’m open to any suggestions, thanks!
@priscilla_tansy totally get it. Sound like it doesn't sit well with you. Not all BC works the same for everyone. I'm sorry it doesn't work for you. I've always loved it, I don't have to do anything. I hope you find one that works well for you!❤
@mermaidmeshy, it’s made me feel depressed, it’s given me acne, I’m super bitchy at times, and plus I just got over the longest period I’ve ever had. I also feel like it’s causing pain in my breasts, like sharp shooting pains at certain times. I don’t know if this will all pass, I know it’s different for every body but I’m starting to reconsider in case I don’t make it through...
I have it, and love it. Can I ask why you don't like it?
@priscilla_tansy, it’s been very hard on me but it’s the only thing I can think of that would cause me to miscarriage considering I have 3 healthy pregnancies and births and then this right after. I wouldn’t recommend anyone use it.!
i had my PP doctors appointment today and my doc prescribed me a pill thats she said was called a “ mini pill “. she told me it was the best for a ebf mom. but that it is sensitive and needs to be taken every day at same time. so i went with that pill.
i think every other option just isn’t for me, i rather go with condoms then anything but the pill.. my 2 sister’s had the arm implant one and both had complications. my mom had the IUD and surgically had to get it removed from a complication. also a friend with iud who got pregnant on it. just nervous myself to take anything else but pill or condoms!
@priscilla_tansy I had issues with the first model before kids. When I had Cassie I decided to get bc again and try something. My options were weak pill or nexplanon. I went with the arm implant. I'm six days on it now and so far so good. Really the only thing you can do is either try the weak pill and still use condoms, or just use condoms and no bc or try to see if the on has other ideas 😕
my sister also ended up having endometriosis after having the nexplanon for years and I have a lot of the same pain she did before she found out.
I've heard of this with a few other people.
@vvrobinson, I consulted with my OB about the progesterone pill, he suggested Nexplanon was the best in low pregnancy rates and was safe for breastfeeding which is why I chose it. Now I’m starting to regret it but don’t want to be without birth control.
@blessedmomof4, I’m scared that it will affect me having another baby in a few years, you’re not the first woman who’s told me they’ve miscarried after using Nexplanon and removing it... doctor told me it could happen as well. Thanks for sharing!
@priscilla_tansy, Understandable. I have several alarms for mine. It won’t hurt if you’re an hour off.
The only option you have as nursing mom is anything that progesterone only. There is a pill but it is said to be the weakest form of birth control they have available. There's also the copper iud that doesn't have hormones period but it has severe side effects. Your best bet is visiting your ob and throughly going through your options
I had the nexplanon for a year until it started giving me problems then I had it removed had 3 healthy pregnancies before and just miscarried 2 months after removing ... that’s my story hope it helps
@priscilla_tansy I had a month long period every other month. Then I was a raging bitch constantly, low sex drive, worse migraines than I already have. That's all I can think of right now.
@wickedlittlethings., I don’t want to have another myself for a few years, but I just don’t think I can commit to taking the pill on time, every day considering I have my plate full.
@rikki., what went wrong with your experience? I just don’t like my hormones raging or this super long period I just had. I also feel like it brought my depression back! I did want to use the pill, but I was on the pill before I was pregnant and didn’t take it on time every time or every day.
Pills are always my favorite. I’m 100% determined not to have another child, so forgetting to take it has never been an option.
I had the nexplanon twice, hated it both times, got it removed early both times. I prefer the pill.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
@mermaidmeshy, I’m hoping it’ll pass, I’m thinking it’s too early for me to expect it to already settle down but it’s also different for everybody so my body must be taking it differently than others! Thank you 😊
