I'm starting to feel like a horroble person. I have a short fuse. I'm hateful at times. I have no patience lately especially with my kids. I've been yelling a lot lately without even realizing I'm about to lose it. I get frustrated so quickly and often over irrelevant stuff. I feel like the worst mom ever. I feel like I'm ruining my kids. I know it's probably hormones, but I want to feel myself again. I want to be the patient, loving mother I used to pride myself on. I'm ready for this pregnancy to be over so I can be me again. I could really use some prayers right now. 😔

I felt the same way during my pregnancy and hoped/thought it would get better after birth....I'm 7 weeks PP and I don't feel any better.... honestly I feel worse. Like awful... I feel like I can't be a proper mother. When I go to the doc on Thursday I'm going to ask about PPD. I wish I would've said something during my pregnancy....

@cajuncateral I was taking celexa before I got pregnant. It was quite a struggle stopping it because of pregnancy. I'll be breastfeeding and that's something I need to check on. I want to take it again after birth but want to make sure it's ok while breastfeeding. Celexa for me was a God sent. I wish I would have taken it sooner in life.

Sometimes hormones can trigger mood swings like this. I got anger flashes after I had the baby. I got on an antidepressant and it helped immensely. I talked to my OB and he said that PPD triggers anger a lot of times and recommended therapy and zoloft. Sometimes we need a little extra help. We go through so much for our children. Happy Mama is a happy family. Take care of yourself because you need to be your best for your kids. :)

I’m the same way lately. Very short tempered. I feel like my poor son thinks i hate him. He told me today that he didn’t want to come home from his dads house because i keep getting mad at him. I told him I’m not mad at him I’m just tired and cranky. Now every time i get upset with him he hurry’s up and does what he’s supposed to do and then comes back and tells me he loves me. It’s just hard because he’s only 3.

@heather3427 I keep telling myself this will be over before I know it, however; this pregnancy has been dragging. Hopefully once school starts, my mind will be occupied and the end of this pregnancy will come quicker.

@aileen_west I feel they walk in eggshells around me too. Never did I think I would affect my husband and kids like this.

@williamsl.miesha I try to explain it to my girls and my oldest understands. It's just hard know I could be hurting their feelings when that is the last thing I would ever want to do. I'm trying to make an effort to sit down with them and give them calm one on one time.

Is there something specific triggering this behavior? Anything has changed in your life that is major

I understand how you feel as I sometimes feel this way. Your not a horrible mother it is just your hormones. What I usually do ia explain to my son that mommy is not feeling well and that after I have the baby things will get better. If I do speak to him out of frustration I always sit him down and explain to him he did nothing wrong and that I'm just tired and I love him. Even though he is 3 years old he understands me. I too can't wait to have my daughter so I can back to normal.

@wvmommy, I understand completely. I’ve been the same way!! But I’m dealing with 5 kids all day everyday!!! With no break from any of them so I’m very stressed out!
