Well, damn mother shit! Here’s a twist to my long lost aunt and the crazy family I would have had.
Well, damn mother shit! Here’s a twist to my long lost aunt and the crazy family I would have had.
Guess who this is... https://newsok.com/article/3691098/former-auditor-sentenced-to-12-years-in-prison
My aunt that just so happened to pop in my life after not knowing she existed. I’m paranoid and skeptical now knowing what she did. I didn’t know this was her name until I dug a little deeper because of my curiosity.

DAAAAMMMNNN!! That's pretty sketchy girl! How much of the 12 did she actually have to do? I hope she hasn't looked you up with ill intentions in her heart!
Maybe she's realized the err of her ways and has reached out to you just trying to establish a real and GOOD family connection. It seems like most of her family has probably been ordered to not have much contact, if they were all in on this together!
DEFINITELY keep your guard up for a WHILE with this one mama!

@leonardsquared, I have no clue how much time she actually served.
I’m at a total loss on how to approach this with her. Or To say nothing at all.
My grandpa said give her a chance and get to know her. People make mistakes and all that. My grandpas wife is the exact opposite and said not to be in contact with her.
We are supposed to get together next mo day to take my boys swimming.
I asked her if I had any cousins, if she had children and she said no. That she only has a step daughter. But in the court docket was a divorce decree with minor children. Everything she said has me questioning it.
I’m so disappointed. My real dad is so racist to the point in giving his older daughter kkk name initials. My grandma is a stalking lunatic. And now what I found about her... 😩😭 she also has had vpos against her as well.
I was so excited about her and now I’m confused about her intentions with me. Does she really want to establish a relationship or is it something deeper?! 😕

Honestly, maybe this long lost relative needs to stay long lost. I get that people make bad decisions sometimes, but you're talking felonies, theft, associating with a murderer, conspiracy, etc. And you've already caught her in a lie to boot. You can't trust a liar. If you choose to have a relationship with her, please be on high alert.

@messybunmom, DEFINITELY keep all those questions at the front of your mind when dealing with her until you can figure out what her intentions truly are. It's very possible she has changed and is trying to take a different path through life than she was once on. You could be that something good that helps her and encourages her to be a better person. You could be that positive influence in her life that it sounds like she's never had too much of. I would FOR SURE play it close to the vest until you can see her...her TRUE personality and intentions before just whole heartedly trusting her. People can change, but it's hard. I'd just be cautious for now, let her prove if she's worthy of your time and effort. She WILL eventually show her true colors and you'll know if she's being genuine or not.

That's a really major offense, and the crimes she committed we're pretty big I mean we're not talking petty theft here, we're talking about almost being charged with crimes against the state and the judge calling her "greedy"... If I were you, I would just tell her someone brought it to your attention and that what she's done is in the past, but I would definitely ask her about the divorce decree that you're mentioning that involved minor children???.. I'm assuming that means she was divorced and has possibly lost custody of her children?? If she's lying about that, then that's a big deal, especially if you're allowing her to be around your children... People can lie about a lot of things and have their reasons, but she shouldn't lie about having children... even if they were taken away because of the crimes she committed...you can't have a genuine relationship with her knowing she has kids and is pretending with you that she doesn't.
You don't owe her anything to stay silent about it. She needs to recognize that you're allowing a felon into your life and she needs to be upfront about things with you. Whether it's uncomfortable for you both or not, to be able to build any kind of future relationship, the truth needs to be talked about. I can see why maybe that's not the first thing she told you of course since you just met her, but now that you know the truth, she should confirm it. You'll see in the way she acts and how she talks to you about it, if she's being genuine with you about her life and what her life is like now. By telling her what you know you'll be establishing a boundary - meaning, if she has good intentions great, but if her intentions were not good, she's going to know that you're not someone who is easily manipulated.

@techie_grrl, it’ll be hard to believe anything she says anymore considering she lied about having children.
@oceanhalo, what you said is exactly my thoughts. I told dh that I’ve gone almost 29 years without knowing her and I’ll be fine going the rest of my life without her.
I thought about it last night and I’m going to ask her in person about it. I have the right to know what kind of person I’m bringing into my children’s life. And that’s exactly what I told dh also was how she acts after I ask her.
I’m not about to allow some crazy person and whatever baggage she carries to my life and cause me some stress. I’m stress free atm and would love to keep it that way lol.

@messybunmom I agree with your decision. No need to complicate things when it's avoidable.
