What do you guys use in your home carpet shampooer? Someone has recommended Pine-Sol.

Following because we recently moved to a house that has carpet on all bedrooms. We rented the rug doctor and used a carpet cleaner we found at home depot

@yamip91 we brought our own shampooer, but the solution sucks.

White vinegar and grapefruit essential oil. It cleans and sanitizes without all the chemicals and the grapefruit oil smells great!

Yep. 50/50 white vinegar and HOT water. You can add some essential oils but I usually don’t. It does smell like vinegar for about and hour but is gone as soon as it dries. Works on pet odors too

@mlmspm Is it a Deep clean that removes tuff stains tho?

Bissel deep clean + antibacterial 2-in-1 formula. And I add oxyclean to it. They are both in the carpet cleaning section at Walmart. I do both because the house we bought has white carpet as soon as you walk into our house and dining room. So it gets dirty so quick and man does it work wonders.

Also idk if it work on darker or colored carpet (if it would bleach it or do color it) but on ours if there is a tough stain I use powdered oxyclean for like laundry and hydrogen peroxide and scrubbed it. This has gotten oil or grease from my husbands shop out of it.

@angelfoodcake, it’s always worked for me. I can’t remember if I’ve ever had any really tuff stains that I used it on though. Just minor things like dirt, ketchup, & chocolate.

I do several passes the first thing I do is either spray the carpets with awesom ( from dollar tree if I know ahead of time I'll get the carpet cleaner ) or I'll add a jug to the machine and use the hottest water from the tap

Second pass I use the one from Home Depot and third I use straight water .

I do this many passes cause I get it about yearly and it doesn't really take that long I keep doing passes until the water is clear usually but it always just really hot tap water after the first two with stuff in it .

Also if you let the awesome sit for even 20 mins then it works better
