Can y’all let me know if this sounds like the principal at the school I work at is accusing my son of giving his son hand foot and mouth disease or am I just tripping.

@nessaa, I think he’s assuming. We are not close so it’s odd that he messaged me on the weekend. Then he didn’t even say hi or anything.
I’m not sure I never replied back. He seemed hostile

@mumstasin, no worries! I understand... work is stressful & you shouldn’t have to deal with it on your day off
@ek620, sorry girl. I’m just snapping because I’m already so stressed with how the manager is treating me. And then I get this from the principal
@mumstasin, Okay, I was just answering the question you asked.
@ek620, to me it does sound like he’s accusing. My son had that 2 weeks ago if he was so concerned about it he would’ve told me to disinfect the office when I got back. He didn’t say anything until his son got it assuming that he transmitted it to his son.
@mumstasin, I don’t know the dynamic of your relationship with him, but it is possible for it to spread without direct contact so it sounds like he’s being cautious. Nothing about his messages seemed accusatory to me.
@ek620, @monavidaa, I have a 8 month old who did not get it and she was directly exposed to it. I think what he did is bs. I have other issues in that office. This just adds to it. We aren’t cool for him to be texting me on a weekend
I don’t think so. Because both of your kids have had it then either one of you could have brought it to the office since adults can carry the illness & be contagious without showing symptoms. It makes sense to sterilize the office before students come back to school otherwise you could have a huge outbreak which is a nightmare & would likely require custodial staff to have to do significantly more cleaning.
@monavidaa, yah I know! And it’s on a Sunday too
@mumstasin then he couldn't have got it from your son. I work at a daycare and usually if one kid gets it by the end of the week they all have it.
@monavidaa, the beginning of the convo
He’s actually never met my kid either
@kaitlinl20, @monavidaa, my son has never met his child. I just work there
I wouldn't say he is accusing you, but hfm is highly contagious so if your child was around his when your son had it he could of very well got it from your son.
