I had this fear. I invited too many people and too many RSVP'D. I originally wasn't going to do a baby shower. I don't like being the center of attention. Luckily about 6 didn't show. 😅
It will just be more intimate, because I am betting at least some will show. Just don’t plan on everyone coming, you don’t want to spend tons of money for the whole guest list. I had too many people with my last baby. It was overwhelming and would have been nice with less. With this baby I’m in control of the guest list and am having a much smaller shower, and the people invited are ones that would bend over backwards to show, though of course, life happens, so I expect a few no shows.
I had literally 30 people RSVP to mine so I rented a space since I live a couple hours away from the majority of mine and my husbands families.. the day before my wedding literally everyone in my husbands family gave me some excuse as to why they couldn’t be there. So between my family and friends that showed up - I had maybe 10 people. Pretty annoying that I was prepared for more but it was more fun with the group I had and I still had a great time. 🤷♀️ also I didn’t even worry about decorating or food at that point. I stopped at a donut shop and had a small brunch set up.
@shelby.wrightx3 I had the EXACT experience except most didn't bother to tell me they weren't coming... They just didn't come! I had no more than 12 people. I was sad and embarrassing at first (stupid I know), but you're right.... I had a great time with who was there, especially since I had two long time friends come a long way. One from Saudi Arabia and another from Macon, GA (I'm in metro ATL). I remembered that day that everything--especially happiness--is all about perspective.

They say expect 50% to show, and 50% not too.
Although I threw a baby shower for my best friend for 80 people, and all 80 showed.
