@celia8991, No that’s wrong that’s still to young to forward face, there little body can’t handle a harsh Force. It’s best to keep them rear-facing to 4 but closer to age 6.

That is outdated. You need to rear face your child until 2- at least where I live.

@mommabear4_07, see the car seat myth link I posted above in regards to “cramped legs” and again, if she was truly educated she would have told you these things

@jack.ass , no I brought my car seat into the office with my son and asked what should I do, because he's so cramped in the back with it rear facing, he was about 18-19 months old, and asked questions, and showed her how cramped he is after reinstalling the car seat in the back seat of my car and placing him in it, and showing her just how cramped he is.

@mommabear4_07, if she tells you to turn your child at 1 she is the WORST car seat advocate I’ve ever heard of. I’m not buying it at all.

@jack.ass, right and the laws are still the bare minimum as far as safety goes. @mommabear4_07, really? At 10 months, she’s 50 pounds?

Ответить

@jack.ass mine actually is, she teaches a car safety class twice a month

Ответить

@unicorn_mama , that depends on how tall she is at age one, she already meet the min weight requirements, but not the height, basically saying she's short and chunky.

@mommabear4_07, pediatricians are not versed in car seat safety. It’s sad that we have to have Laws to tell people how to parent... laws are not caught up. Part of being a parent is researching the best things and implement them.

@mommabear4_07, your position is that you want what is best and safest for your children but choose to forward face anyway. You even stated previously that you will forward face your youngest at one years old. That contradicts wanting what is best and safest for your children.

Clearly you know the facts. You posted this for attention. I just hope that when it comes time to do the right thing for your children, you will.

A whole lot of effort going into defending a practice that is not best for children’s safety. Why?

Ответить

mommabear4_07

Lyndsie KathrynМама четверых детей

and just so you know i didn't post this just for attention I get enough at home.

honest I like talking about car seat safety, in my state it's not illegal and I do keep my child rear facing until they out grow their car seat, not the typical infant one you bring them home in but the convertible one that goes both ways.

And I did get approval from our pediatrician before doing so

I mean, you said you were pissed off in your last post so now, I’m confused. But either way, I think maybe you should just put this to rest. No one that is up to date on car seat safety is going to agree with you on this so it’s just going to be an endless conversation

Ответить

So, you’ve seen the facts and still decide to drag this argument out for the sake of what?

It’s scientifically safer for a child to rear face for as long as they can.

The law is the bare minimum.

You really shouldn’t be posting that it’s okay to rear face at one. That is just not safe and in some states, it’s illegal.

Okay, you choose to do it but just know that it is not the safest thing for your child regardless of what chart you find on the internet.

Did you want attention by posting this? You sure got that and it seems you knew it would cause that by your initial post. It’s 2 years old and if you want to risk YOUR kids then do it. But I hope to god you don’t get in accident.

@mommabear4_07, actually your 2 yr old would be safer Rearfacing as well 🤷🏼‍♀️ perhaps you should read the research yourself as your post suggests

SOOOO instead of doing what is SMARTER and SAFER for your child, you want to continue this argument? Like really? Ok. You do you. That’s fine. No one is going to make you put your child’s life & safety in front of convenience, ego, ignorance, pride, or whatever exactly it is that makes you choose to forward face when you KNOW rear facing is better. Just stop posting about it.

@caiticat. I consider it people looking out for my kids because I have my 11 year old, 4 year old and 2 year old all front facing...

my 11 year old is 5 feet tall, my 4 year old is 4 feet 6 inches tall, my 2 year old is 3 feet 10 inches tall

Ответить

So because someone is worse with car seat safety, your choices are ok? I turned my oldest at 10 months... because that was ok then. Guess what?!? Know better, do better. My middle was just turned after 4 because he’s got a long torso and the fit wasn’t good rf anymore. My youngest will remain Rearfacing until at least 4 as well.

@jack.ass, how so? because when I turned my 11 year old front facing at 1, when this recommendation didn't exist. I continue to do the same thing for my other children?

at least my kids are ALWAYS, in a car seat unlike some people who don't, because they're specific response was this to me when confronted, "When she's in the car seat she screams and doesn't stop, I got 7 kids who don't want to hear that shit"

needless to say immediately after that I called dss on her and told me what was going on.

Like honestly, all Cassandra ever did was pick fights with people. I was totally over it and worried for her kids when she so obviously wasn't.

Physics and science show different. My 2 year old is still rearfacing excpet on rare occasion. She will remain rearfacing until she reaches 40 pounds Max of her seat. Size of a child has nothing to do with it. The babies spine and neck vertebrae are still fusing together at that age . It starts to solidify at age 2 and finishes around age 6 completely. Rearfacing helps supposrt their necm vertibrae if they were to get in an accident. Also you should harness your children as long as possible too.

Depends on your definition. @idontwant2bapie Personally I am pissed at all the bashing. that's not what this app was made for. I stand by my decisions to forward face my children!

I want what's best and safest for my kids to, but this recommendation is just that!

Ответить

I’ll go with the law. Forward face is age 2 in my state. And this is a load of crap imo because babies bones are way underdeveloped to be forward facing at age 1. The impact would be too crucial for their little bodies and bones.

Ответить

momof2gs

Veronica Мама двоих (2 года, 6 лет)

But regardless you can’t argue w science & physics. I turned my daughter at 1 bc it was the law until I was informed by a dr why it’s safest to keep babies rear facing longer.

This graphic is terrible and very misleading.... not only that, but legal isn’t always the safest option.
