Just wondering how your nearly 2 year olds or just turned 2 year olds are doing developmentally?

My daughter will be 2 next month and I'm worried she may be a little behind. She says mamama and dadada but not really towards us just to hear herself talk i think. I've made an appointment to get her ears checked, i know she can hear sounds but she can't comprehend what we are saying so I'm not sure if she is hard of hearing or may have a learning disability?

I know kids all learn at different paces but I'm wondering if I should start being concerned at this point. Her cousins her age talk just fine and understand what you say.

My 2 year old didn’t really start talking much until right before her b day. Now she’s taking off with it

My son clearly sang the entire Happy Birthday song to himself on his second birthday. He's always been ahead in speech though so I don't think he's a good comparison for what's considered normal. If you're concerned, it can never hurt to talk to a doctor. Best of luck!

When my son was 2 he didn’t really talk he did a lot of mumbling and said like dada and momma and he learned how to say thank you, please and hungry in sign language because of the fact he didn’t wanna talk! His doctor said it was okay as long as he understood and was attempting too talk ! He started reeeeeally talking at 3 and now he is gonna be 4 in 2 weeks and I miss the mumbles lmao

Our pediatrician said that around ten words was typical for 18m, and about 50 at two. My son has way too many words that he uses consistently, I stopped counting at 150. However, he didn't start the word explosion until just before his birthday.

My almost 3 yr old old doesnt speak much. We had her evaluated for speech therapy at around 18 months and I was told she was just lazy....she will be 3 in november and is still delayed in "speaking/understanding".

Got her evaluated again and started speech therapy 2 weeks ago😁

I cant wait to see the results

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
