Any Moms Ever Had A Colposcopy Due To Continuous Abnormal Pap Tests??
I Have To Get One Done Today and I’m A Little Afraid😞
@jaidensmommy I'm sorry😔 I'm just straight forward..I say the truth because I have gone through it. I wouldn't mislead you at all. I don't know who said they scrap you that's only partially..they scrap you and cut you then they test it and let you know what your results are..if your cells are changing they will talk to you about other options if your cells aren't changing then they will tell you to get a pap in 6 months to see your progress. I however had barely anything when they found mine but I had a very good doc who took care of my concerns. And remember during the colpo usually if you just have leisons then they will remove them during the colpo. That's what happened to me and I have had normal paps for 3 years!!
@jaidensmommy maybe stop on your way home or take some as soon as you get back
@ashleyvarnadore08, I would not have any Tylenol with me 😑
@pipelinemama, oh wow .. I’m glad you were able to catch it in time
@jaidensmommy, yeah that’s what you can risk if you don’t stay on top of it, I know I had that a LEEP procedure and several biopsies every few months for a few years because my cells came back precancerous and had I waited a few more months to get my first ever pap the outcome could have been cancer.
@jaidensmommy O no it's not, a pap smear is only them cottonswabbing your vajj, a colposcopy they are scraping and cutting your cervix..it's not the same!!
@jaidensmommy That's correct so definitely stay on top of your paps!!
@jaidensmommy yeah they scrap a little piece of tissue but you can't even feel it. The cramping is the only thing that bothered me I took advil extra strength and it helped out with that.
@ashleyvarnadore08, it’s kind of the same like getting your Pap smear right?? Like feeling wise?
@t.jen88, yeah my doctor said I would have the colposcopy done today and I guess if things aren’t looking good then I will have to have the biopsy buuuut I have to wait until I give birth
@pipelinemama, yesss you’re right because I’m scared of having like some type of cancer. I think they said cervical cancer is common if untreated right?
@kambam, yeah like they said I would have to wait to have a biopsy until after I’ve had the baby
Yes praying for you do not stress! I have a positive support system and prayer warriors on my behalf!
I have to have one after baby is born this will be the 2nd one in the past 1 1/2 Years. Isn't to bad as long as you take something for the cramping
I have! Not while pregnant though, when I was younger. After my colposcopy I had to do a cone biopsy to remove the abnormal cells. From then on, my paps we’re normal. I understand your fear but if that’s what your doctor recommends, I’d totally get it done.
@kambam, that I do agree with, my previous comment I didn’t see she was pregnant 🤦🏻♀️ but if her ob thinks it’s necessary and will keep an eye on her I’d be cautious and give her my experience with it.
I have only had one abnormal pap and I had to get a colpo..it's not scary, a little uncomfortable and hurts a little but nothing scary. Please be careful I bled brown after mine but I was ok!! I have had normal pap ever since and that was 3 years ago for me!! You will be fine Mama!! Don't be afraid!! But I don't suggest getting it done during pregnancy unless your doc knows for sure it's safe for you because #1 they cut your cervix #2 you bleed afterwards which you're not supposed to bleed during pregnancy #3 They give you antibiotics so that you won't get an infection which that antibiotic won't be good for baby!! It is better to be safe than sorry, but get it done when you deliver and go for your post partum appointment if your doc says it's safe to do!!
Totally up to other women what they do with their bodies but I don't recommend the colposcopy at all during pregnancy and any good OB would agree to wait @pipelinemama
@kambam, oh okay hey as long as you know I don’t blame you! i just wanted to make sure because some people on this app go off the deep end when you give advice 😂🤦🏻♀️
It's not rude 😊 I thank you for your concern. I know exactly why they are abnormal and until absolutely necessary I'll be abstaining from any pelvic exams @pipelinemama
@kambam, I really hope this doesn’t come across as rude, but please go get them done, you never know what those abnormal paps will turn into. You can go years with abnormal paps but it only takes a short amount of time for it to become something more. And more drastic measures need to be made.
I didn’t see you were pregnant, Tylenol instead of Advil 🤦🏻♀️
I wouldn't recommend it while pregnant. It really can wait...
Always get abnormal pap and nothing ever came of it so I stopped getting paps.
Yea, me and my sister both. don’t be afraid! it’s more common then you think momma.
I did, I know how scary that can be but this is the best course of action your dr could take to see how far the abnormal cells have grown. Take some pain meds like Advil to help with the cramping after and take it easy afterwards.
Yes praying for you do not stress! I have a positive support system and prayer warriors on my behalf!
