My son has a helmet too! He loves it! The same thing happened with pediatricians! First doctor said he would shape it himself 🙄 that it’s nothing to worry about. I ended up getting into an argument with one nurse because she squeezed the shit out of my sons thigh when she was getting ready to give my son a shot. He started screaming! There was two shots left and I told her to stop and get a different nurse. First visit with the new doctor and he wrote a referral for cranial tech. He has to have two different helmets. He’s had this one for about 2 months. He gets the other one a month or two after his birthday in October.
@buntaine, that’s good! My oldest had to use one as well and he hated it, so hopefully with Eliana it’s different lol did they say how long he would be in it?
@mct, he has had a flat head since I can remember and I always asked his pediatrician if it’s normal and if he needs a helmet. She always said no he’s fine. I changed doctors to get a second opinion when he turned 7 months. She said he had brachycephaly and would need a helmet. He is very old to be getting one because his old doctor said he didn’t need one when he did
How did you know you needed one? My son has a flat spot on the back of his head and I keep forgetting to ask the pediatrician if it's okay or if he needs one.
