Rinse raw meat or don’t rinse raw meat? Why or why not?
I rise my meat because of the feel it has I don’t like it so I rise it off. I didn’t think about no bacteria or anything. Just rise the blood off I also wear gloves I hate touching meat.
My pop pop and granny was a chef they always rinsed the meat off first
See, the thing is, it doesn't matter whether you do or don't do it, whether there is a reason to or not. It. Does. Not. Matter. And if that's something people want to argue about, bless their bored little hearts. Rinse or don't rinse. Big whoop.
@its.a.bird That's why most people clean their sinks, at least I do, daily with bleach.
@thathusie, yeah, I'm not arguing against using bleach to clean, just that if it is necessary to use to kill the bacteria from meat juice in the sink, what is rinsing killing or really removing from the meat. I also rinse fruits and vegetables.
Vinegar is a natural and biodegradable cleaner that can be used to clean food surfaces. It also kills some bacteria, but not all harmful ones. You could use vinegar as a fruit and veggie wash if you wanted to go further than just a water rinse.
@thathusie, my dad is a chef and does this. So I always copied him. Lol
@ariasmommy0816, I use it to clean too, but never to rinse meat.
Vinegar is good to kill bacteria. I use it to clean and to take the smell out of things.
@lpheartsyou, @ariasmommy0816, what’s the vinegar for? That’s new to me. Seriously curious.
@haslberry, it’s just something I learned from my parents and others I’ve seen cook. It’s a habit. I bleach my kitchen and other areas in my house because that’s just how I clean anyway. I heard that rinsing meat spreads bacteria, so I just clean really well after rinsing my meat. I also rinse fruits and vegetables too. 🤷♀️
No for me.
Out of curiosity, why do people who rinse meat do it? If you argue that you bleach your sink to kill the bacteria that is splashed from rinsing, shouldn't you also bleach the meat? If not, then wouldn't the same rinse you do to the meat be sufficient to clean your sink?
I rinse with water then vinegar just something my mom taught me and it always stood with me
I had never heard of people washing meat til I came on mum app's. There's no way in hell any Australian would be bothered with that 😂 Cooking meat kills bacteria anyway and any bacteria it can't kill is because the meat has gone bad.
And I'm putting $5 on this not staying friendly. Lol #bboldtimer #notmyfirstmeatrinsefight
I rinse and just clean with bleach, dish soap, and hot water. I’ve heard about bacteria splashing around, but that’s the purpose of cleaning.@lovelily, @squishymommy1,
No rinsing. It spreads bacteria. Anything that you would rinse off would be killed off in the cooking process anyway.
Nope. The bacteria in that water splashing all over the sink would be too hard to clean.
I rinse. Just something I picked up watching my mom and grandma do. Especially with chicken when I remove the skin.
Anyone of you now or in your previous pregnancies have a meat aversion? The thought and smell of meat cooking or raw meat makes me want to throw up and if I do eat it, it makes me nauseous.
Question
When cooking raw chicken or meat, do you use the same contaminated cooking spoon/fork throughout the cooking process? And do you serve the food with the same oogie spoon?

Please tell me why men don't rinse the sink out when they are done shaving..... that shit pisses me off SO much....
Anyone else disgusted by the smell of raw meat? Chicken in particular?
so I have a question do you ladies eat sandwich meat? I was told your not suppose to same with hot dogs and raw fish or sushi
