What Age Is Safe for a Child to Sleep on the Top Bunk?
What age would you allow your child to sleep on the top bunk? This is my twins bed. Right now the top mattress is on the roll out trundle bed.

It has stairs and no ladder which is safer to me. There is no way they can sqeeze through the rails.. We have set strict rules the day we got the bed which was when they were 22mnths. It was intended to share with big sis but she doesn't like heights. So we got her a new bed for her room.
I may try it this weekend and let one of them sleep on top.

I would more go by if they understand they can't just roll out of bed, climb over the side, or walk off, not the age. They would have to know they MUST use the stairs.

They know to use the stairs and go down slow. I may sleep in there 1 or 2 nights just to make sure. They do have a toddler night light each they can carry around if needed.

I wouldn’t for a couple more years. At 2 I feel like they’d still try to climb over the side or jump. But that’s just me. I don’t think I’d let my 5 year old sleep in one because he would think it’s cute to jump or something and he has a temper that makes him do stupid stuff when he’s mad

Id let a 5yr old.

They will be 3 in a few mnths.

I think 3 is ok as long as they understand not to jump off but I think more than anything it depends on the kid.

Depends on the kid. My kid at 3-4 would probably try flying off. I know some other kids around 3 that totally wouldn’t and would be chill about sleeping up there. Only you know if your child is a crazy daredevil or not hahah. Some children are more timid and wouldn’t even try until bigger.

They haven't slept up on top yet or even asked to or tried to. 😀. Of course I'll let them if they want.
