@jmedina my marriage certificate n stuff say Carroll but nothing else does except my I.D

You never have to change your name when your married and since you legally didnt I do not think it will be a problem. I live in TN and I'm pretty sure my husband didnt have to show I'd not prove we were married. They give us the paperwork we fill it out and it gets mailed to us. We could have put whatever we wanted lol

I don't even remember signing on a birth certificate or anything

But my social is still Carroll (maiden name) and everywhere I go to the Drs, the apt complex where I live etc always uses the name on my social card which is carroll

@keeondracarroll01, I wasn’t aware you could change back to your maiden name while still legally married. Did you have to petition the court to do so? How does it work?

If your name is still legally your husbands last name, i would assume your insurance info is that way as well. The hospital needs the correct info for their documentation. Most states husband is the assumed father. So must likely he will be put on the birth certificate and you’ll have to do a DNA test and contest it in court later on.

If my ex would been there to sign, he would have had to have his id because he was gonna have to sign in front of the notary of the hospital.

I’m not Married and in Wa state both parents needed to show ID.

@keeondracarroll01, this happened to my friend, and what happened was they put married husband as a dad, and they had to go to court. Both guys had to get a dna test, and then put boyfriend as dad once paternity was established.

When I had both my kids we didn’t need anything we just filled out the paperwork and gave it to them they didn’t ask for anything identification or anything and when they asked about her last name they just asked me what her last name is going to be.

In the UK both parents need ID

When I had my son the hospital had an office you bring the filled out birth certificate with both parents ID. If you aren’t married to the father of the child then he will have to sign paperwork saying he’s the father. Also whatever names are on your IDs are the names that go on the birth certificate but you can always change it. At least that’s how Ga works. It may be different in your state
