@spookylyn, still hurting. Doctor says it’s bc baby is in my pelvis. Although I’ve seen other stuff where woman have this same issue. So idk what it is. It can be super painful tho. Wish this on no one. Thanks for asking ☺️

@spookylyn, if you would like to message me personally I’d love to chat and play 20 questions with you but I’m not gonna debate with you over this poor woman’s post anymore so she has to deal with all the nonsense and notifications.

@whitmom2be18, you don’t have to explain yourself to me! Get checked if you want!

@phoebesmommy, @rina414, I think they usually check if you say you have symptoms of labor like cramping . I know that’s what the nurse told me. My doctor hasn’t checked me in 4 weeks and I’m 39+3 today. @k_nc, @spookylyn, I was checked on Sunday bc I went to the hospital with severe pelvic pain so they checked to see if I was in labor. Then today was my normal appointment with my doctor so he checked me since he hadn’t in 4 weeks. I am fine with the checks bc after being pregnant for so long and being FTM I like to know how my body is progressing regardless of how much it’ll tell about my actual date I’ll go into labor. Thanks so much to everyone for the feedback. Very helpful

@rina414, I mean you can have a sweep done to try to naturally induce labor but it’s really not necessary

@rina414, I didn’t know either but now I do bc of public forums lol. It’s not comfortable and at def not necessary at 36/37 weeks. Opt out.

@spookylyn, @phoebesmommy, Being that im a FTM and just in general didnt know checking for dilation and effacement wasnt necessary, I didnt question my doctor. I assumed it’s part of the routine starting at 36/37 weeks. My doctor checked me today and was rather rough. 😓. She even jokingly said sorry for putting you through that pain being that it doesn’t really give us an accurate indication of when you’re going into labor. Why the heck do they check then?! Anyone know?

@phoebesmommy, the way that she was saying things in her comment before I said she’s bashing pretty much sounded like bashing to me otherwise I wouldn’t have said it 🤷🏼‍♀️ y’all just want to spread education that’s cool, I said that you’re not really at risk unless your water is broken. @spookylyn, wants to say that a penis doesn’t force itself inside of a cervix which sure if you’re not dilated it won’t but surprise bacteria doesn’t just stick to the penis it spreads so pretty much it’s just as much of a risk and if you are dilated the penis could go into the cervix.

So yeah sorry y’all don’t agree with me and sorry @whitmom2be18, for taking over your post but honestly we’re just going in circles so I’m not gonna try and argue with you guys

@spookylyn, that’s fine don’t do it then, but don’t sit up there on your high horse and act like anyone that does is harming their baby cause they aren’t. So what if she’s curious? It’s a peace of mind to know how far you’re dilated and to maybe see that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. It’s her body, her child, her doctor and her labor and delivery experience so leave her be. I’m sure she loves getting on here to see people bashing her when she was just trying to vent about how she’s barely dilated yet.

@spookylyn, yes thank you I know what dilation is 😊 if your doctor has to force their way into it then obviously you’re not dilated enough to be checked. Again like I said, nothing has ever been forced into my cervix and getting her cervix checked once at 38 weeks isn’t gonna kill her

@spookylyn, Idk how your doctor checks you but nothing has ever gotten forced inside of my cervix 😂

@phoebesmommy, @spookylyn, actually the only time there’s a serious risk of infection is after your water breaks 🤷🏼‍♀️ I mean you have sex don’t you, I’m pretty sure those doctors gloves are cleaner than your husbands penis. Js.

Is there a reason they’re checking your cervix? It doesn’t help anything and it can increase your risk of infection.

I was not dilated 4 hrs before my daughter was born. Contractions mean everything, dilation means nothing
