Has anyone switched their baby from milk to tea before? I feel like my daughter drinking too much milk and she loves tea( of course without caffine). I was going to try it next week.

Why do you want to give her tea?

How much milk is she drinking? I’d cut her back to 16-20oz and give her water otherwise. I’m not sure if there are any teas considered safe for toddlers. I’d do some research and maybe call in to her pediatrician before you try it.

I'd give her however much is the recommended amount of milk and then water in between.

@wafflespancakes she can drink 24-32 ounces.
Shanique·
@leahkay because that's something she likes just as much as milk

What kind of tea? And I cut my son down to 16-20oz a day and offer water and watered down juice in between

Our ped said up to 3 cups of milk a day is fine. So 24oz. That seems like a lot to me so we do a cup at breakfast and a cup with dinner. Rest of the day is water. Can you try more water instead of tea?
Shanique·
@ricky-bobby no it was cranberry tea she had
Shanique·
@michellemybell09 its was cranberry tea she tried and I'm trying to do that but my bf and his mother think it's ok for her to drink that much milk and I'm like no she's getting old you needa cut back on the milk.
Shanique·
@ella_j_heart she actually likes water so I'll try the water in milk thing

I personally think the milk is better then the tea. I think children need milk. It's good for their bones, they need the calcium, they are growing. And I agree with water in between. My daughter is 14 months and she drinks 3 sippy cups of milk in a day & about 2-3 sippy cups of water a day. I've given her some juice, but not everyday.

The only thing about tea is that it’s a natural diuretic, meaning it pulls water out of the body, so you’d have to be very careful she is staying properly hydrated. Just to be safe id stick with water, tea as an occasional treat.
