It is a Hulu original so unfortunately I don't think it'll be on Netflix, I use my MILs account just to watch it.

Its based on a future where women become barren (not producing of children) so I guess it would be our government rounds up all the women who have successfully had babies in the last few years, puts them through a handmaids camp where they learn how/what that is (all of this is like a prison of course, cow prods, fingers cut off, eyes mutilated, brainwash) once they are "trained" they are given to a barren family of the government (like a senator and wife etc. the rich) They watch her cycle and on her fruitfullest day they perform the ceremony (aka rape in a different more "biblical" manner) its got a great story line. It has a lot of flashbacks with the main character. Its soooooooo worth the watch! Its intriguing b/c its so awful and unimaginable!! I’m on episode 6 of the first season, and I just honestly can’t get into it.

@rebelprincesz24, No subtitles, I mean every once in awhile maybe but I can't remember ever reading any. They all speak english thats for sure 👍🏼
