You are at higher risk for miscarriage of you don't get one or two periods between a d&c. They scrape the lining pretty thin which could prevent implantation or cause the embryo not to implant properly. Best to use a reliable form of bc for a few months afterwards.

Update: I did get pregnant right after my D&C my hcg levels are rising but not doubling. I never stopped bleeding after D&C so they are pretty sure im in the process of miss carrying again. They will be checking my levels all next week but I'm still bleeding heavily so I think I already know the outcome. Just praying it all happens naturally and don't have to get another D&C

Might add that i highly doubt if its before your af that you'll miscarry just because of that. Miscarriage is just crum luck that happens. So don't worry stay strong and if you want another pregnancy go for it

I had a d&c before this pregnancy. In may. Didn't conceive till dec 23rd. Its possible but everyone is different. :) Good luck

I do want to be pregnant but don't want to go through having another mc. We are going to start trying after I get my first af. I just didn't know if getting pregnant before your first cycle would cause you to miscarry again.

Very possible I had one done and got pregnant a month later

D&C clears out all the lining of the uterus so it would make it more difficult for implantation if you were to conceive. But, pregnancy should never be written off as impossible if you've had sex (unless you don't have ovaries or a uterus) so I'd say maybe talk to your OBGYN and see what they say? Good luck!

I have had one but didn't get pregnant straight after. Mine was months after. If I remember correctly you are ready to get pregnant again after it as they have taken it all out, meaning yeah you easily could fall pregnant. If you dont want to be pregnant again I would go get the morning after pill but please ring up the hospital unit you had the D&C to ask for advice before you do.
