Anyone know anything about fostering and the Criteria you have to meet?!
@ezchaz It breaks my heart to see such a young child with so much hurt and pain 😭 I had a bad upbringing and when I see others with the same it really hurts me xx
@ezchaz I've been thinking about it a while to be honest. And I'm not rushing into anything just wanted to get a bit of information. Me and my fiance are going to have a long think about it all! And She's no trouble at all. She had never watched a Disney princess film before yesterday! And she watched it with me. I brought her in our house yesterday to watch films and she was here untill 9pm
@rachaellw I think there is violence as she's always screaming her head of crying and stuff xx
If social services did anything they would not let the child go to you as you are her neighbour. The point of social care is to take them away from an environment. Moving them just next door will not solve anything.
@megan-leigh, the thing is social won’t just take the children away unless the parents decided that’s what they would prefer. The case with aunties foster kids took something like 13 years for them to finally come away from the parents. They will/should try and give support to the parents first before just taking the children away, unless I should imagine there is physical violence ect x
@ezchaz No it's my next door neighbour. She's horrible to her child. Social services are involved but aren't doing anything. She mentally abuses her she's never ever been to a fair or the zoo. Her clothes are all tatty and old and she's always crying to me saying about what her mum says to her. Today her mum threatened her saying she's going to ask to put her in care xx
@megan-leigh, It would depend on the circumstances I should think. I duno about the age limit. Sorry I’m not sure. Fostering you would be payed to have the children for the short term until they were adopted. Parental responsibility, you would be there ‘parent’ in place if there biological ones I should of imagined i don’t no the complete ins and outs of it all im sure it can be quite complex x
@rachaellw Ah right. Would I have to foster them if I was handed parental responsibility? Or could they just be in my care? I'm 21 in August also xx
@megan-leigh, I’m not sure tbh. I think oils think it was similar but probably slightly different. You would be best to talk to a social worker x
There are loads of rules they have to stick with as well once they have the children. No alcohol in the house at all, not aloud certain colours on the wall. My auntie had to quit work, they have to take the children to have meeting with family if it’s needed, they had to travel to school which was over a hour away until they were settled and then moved them to a closer school. They wanted 2 girl siblings but were offered loads of different children, baby’s, teenagers ect, they could refuse. Now they have two siblings out of 6, a boy and a girl x
@ezchaz @mamaofzuri @rachaellw Do you know if it would be the same if someone handed over parental responsibility?xx
My auntie has just gone through the process and is now fostering x
@ezchaz I'm trying not to it's just playing on my mind a lot xx
