does anybody have any recommendations for what i can do about my newborns constipation? we went to the doctors yesterday for her newborn check up and they recommended karo syrup and said in a week if nothings change to bring her back and we would talk about switching her milk but i cant wait a week, she is in so much pain pooping shes screaming and crying and i know this is not normal‼️im scared to change her milk without a doctors recommendation because i dont want to mess her stomach up more but my baby is in so much pain, we’ll be going to the ER soon because somebody needs to tell me something.

@laniejay, i wish i wouldve been able to breastfeed her☹️i started the soy last night which is more sensitive on their tummys and its dairy free also what the doctor recommended, idk how to tell if shes taking well to it but i hope so
@damnkmar, I don’t know formulas too well because I breastfed. If you suspect a milk allergy - go with your gut mama. Transition to a gentler one or go dairy free.
@laniejay, milk allergy runs on dads side of the family and i thought about that too like maybe its a milk allergy but im scared to switch her formula to a more sensitive on i dont want to mess things up more for her😔do you know what the sensitive form of gerber would be? my last daughter i had on regular similac and she did well but i want to keep her on the same brand but something more sensitive but im not sure what that would be
It shouldn’t be a ball at that age. Sounds like this formula is not working for her. I’d try something sensitive or have them consider a milk allergy.
Sometimes when babies can't poop right away when they need to..the old poop gets stuck harder to come out with new poop on top so causes constipation..glad to know she pooped now..my pediatrician once told me after 3days of not pooping isn't okay but, if no fever occurs and they are drinking their bottle and not fussy its okay..and the ER doesn't do anything unless it's 3days or more for not pooping..also she had a baby that didn't go for 7days and then of course had exploded her diaper and all her bassinet she said 7days is obivously way to long...
i have tried the bicycle legs and that didnt work and her umbilical cord just fell off yesterday and it was still raw looking and so they told me to hold off on baths until it dries up a little more when she poops its a ball its not hard (to me it maybe hard for her) about a hour ago she pooped and it was a ball and then she pooped again and it was pretty much regular dark green and seedy @laniejay, @sherrynygirl, @they-see-me-trollin,

When she poops, what is it like? Hard, soft, mushy, foamy... etc.
Have you tried bicycling the legs, the I love you massage, warm bath?
Awe poor baby.. remember babies especially newborn-3 Month's are laying down often...children need gravity to help poop easier..trying laying her in a baby swing on or infant carrier for a little and rock her..also when u burp maybe try holding her higher on your shoulder to burp in between her Oz's of half she drinks...if not burped enough they can scream also..Karo syrup I was told by a nurse also it helps them ...warm bath for 15,,min or more to help relax her muscles and the old school style if putting her legs in a bicycle motion...hope she feels better she's too small to be in pain 💓

What will my doctor do if I tell her I’m depressed and I can’t handle the pain anymore because I’m very uncomfortable at this point and I don’t know how much longer I can be like this.
My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her ...
I just absolutely love some women on here! Some woman wants to write on another women's post telling her she shouldn't be having sex at all in the beginning of pregnancy. I didn't know she was her doctor. Then she wants to tell me that the first trimester is only 1-9 weeks pregnant. And she lost her baby at 4 weeks pregnant due to sex. Like sweetie that's your period starting!
