@newlyironman @newlyironman i had to surrender her over because she was in labor for 36 hours and all vets wanted 700.00$- 1,200.00$ for a c section. There was no way for me to come up with that kind of money. So it was either give her up or let her die. I felt it was a better option to give her up then let her die. I would have surrendered her sooner but i had no transportation to get her there till the time i did.

@knockout i never adopted her. She was already mine. But i had to give her up so she would not die from being in labor. She was not dialated at all. So the only option i had was to surrender her.

@angelbrownell26 none of the people you had put in applications were chosen?

@angelbrownell26, I would have a friend or family member go in an adopt her back if they won’t let you. I understand medical bills are expensive but furbabies are Family 😩 I couldn’t imagine leaving my baby like that. Most vets work with you with a payment plan, you don’t have to have it all upfront. I was a vet tech for 2.5 years emergency C Sections are scary business! We had to do one at 4am on a chihuahua that ended up with 8 puppies 😳😳 it was a long night but we saved them all (had to bring 3 back to life)

Edit: also PSA to anyone else with fur babies, most clinics do discounted spay/neuter days were you can take your pets in for almost 70% off normal prices, and they do rabies shots too.

Also i didn't breed her. I tried to get my male dog a home but the people who took him brought him back that same day at night time because they changed there minds about him because they had two other dogs. So i tried to keep them separate but that clearly didn't work. At the time i had no transportation or money to get her fixed. So unfortunately this happened. :(

@knockout we did have a family member apply for her. My aunt got the call yesterday saying shes no longer available. :(

@angelbrownell26, well I guess it’s good that she found someone quickly so she wasn’t in their for long; or Did they give you a checkup on her? Did she survive the surgery?

@knockout i called the day after i surrendered her. She survived and is doing great. Ive checked on her periodically including today. They said shes not available right now. Which im hoping means shes been adopted by someone else. Or they jusr figured out that i was trying to get her back. I have no other family that could even apply for her even if shes not adopted.

Unfortunately her puppies didn't make it. I took her in to late for them to survive. I feel awful about it. Even though i would have taken her in sooner but had no transportation to take her.

@angelbrownell26, it sounds like they are holding her till she heals and most human society centers get the animals spayed/neutered so that might be why she’s unavailable. I doubt they would put her back out for adoption so soon.

However no offense because I’m sure you did all you could for her, it doesn’t sound like you are in a position right now to have a fur baby. They do cost a lot and need regular checkups and are a lot of responsibility.

@knockout tis not soon. She is completely healed. Shes been there for over a month. And they even posted her on there web page. Then after my brother inlaw applied for her they took her off the website because he has the same last name(my husband's brother )

I’m so sorry to hear about Daisy. You did what you had to do. I hope she goes to really good home! Sorry they won’t let you have her back in your home. I hope it doesn’t stress you out too much mama. U got a little baby to think of too. At least if she was on the site that means she made a good recovery. If you didn’t take her in she may not be alive at all.

@liz41395 thank u! Yeah your right she absolutely would have not made it. Even if she didn't get pregnant she would have died from cancer. She had pollups that they removed that would have turned in to cancer if they did not get removed.

@ohnstadk thank you! Yeah i tries that. They wouldn't allow me to, they said i had to have money for them in order for them to even look at her. I tried everything.

With my other fur baby. Were trying to get out if the whole and when we do were making an emergency fund for him. I feel completely awful that she went threw this.
