Hey Moms! Do any of you feel that your baby has been spoiled from all of the holding during breastfeeding? I think I have spoiled my baby boy. He loves to be held. He's starting to whine when I put him down.🤔

@takesma Eleanor is always wanting boob and for me to pick her up. She even sleeps in the boob at night still lol Babies need loving and their Mommas but I think they can get a little spoiled 😄 but she is also 14 months

@takesma yes I'm still struggling with that a bit. I have twin 4 year olds and it gets frustrating. Every time I put her down to clean or cook she cries and screams

@takesma I don't. Babies are designed to want to be held all the time. They are completely helpless and rely on us for everything. It only makes sense that they feel the need to be with us all the time. It's the society we now live in that makes it seem like an undesirable thing. My son always wanted to be held, and I held him. He would only sleep if he was held, and during the day he didn't like being put down. He's 2 now and he is the most independent child I know. I was always told he would be super clingy and dependent because I held him all the time, and he is the exact opposite.

No you cant spoil weeks old babies. Attachment like that starts around 4-6 months. Your son is going into the 3 cs phase. Cranky, clingy and crying. Its common around 4-5 then again around 7-8 and it goes on for the first year. Its very normal.

@takesma it also doesn't mean you can't EVER put him down. If I needed to get something done and couldn't babywear, I would put him in his little bouncer seat and keep him close by and talk to him. He would fuss and not be happy about It, and I would just comfort him along the way.

@vvrobinson thanks. It's just been so long since I had a baby. So I don't really remember how it was. I know I can always count on my other Mommies

@takesma yeah dont worry this bonding is absolutely essential for the babys secure attachment and boost of their immune system. They need this comfort from us right now. Hold on tight and enjoy it. He will be more independent in a few months

@takesma his dad needs to hush. Unless hes the one that pushed the kiddo out and is nursing him every 2 hours he has no say on how long you hold your baby. You give that baby all the loving you want. We support you 💕

@takesma, don’t think that hun. You’re doing fine. That baby spent 9 months inside of you, they are connected to you.

- No ma’am! All your baby has ever known is you. Can’t spoil a baby. Definitely not a newborn. I wear my son all the time. He’s to the point now he likes his toys. I miss him being itty bitty. Now he’s a big punk 😅💙 I love every second of it. Every time he eats, I scroll through my phone. This app 🙈😅

I asked my pediatrician this because mine is SUCH a mamas girl and doesn’t like for anyone but me to hold her. He told me that I’m home base for her. I’m all she knows from being in the womb. It’s not uncommon and she will grow out of it. She’s 8 months old today and still clingy lol.

Мама троих детей

My first was not breastfeed and she was very independent and my second was exclusively breastfeed and yes that is a con because they get super attached and separation anxiety since they get use to being stuck on you

You can’t spoil a baby, you can’t hold a baby too much, you can’t answer their cries too often
