I got my c section date today! She will be here July 30th 😱 I am terrified of surgery, anxious about being a new mommy and feel like I still am not prepared.

@inkedsouthernbelle got it! I was worried about that catheter part too. I've never had nothing major done to me so it's all new. Thanks so much for the advice I'm definitely going to ask
@korimommi, and make sure they do the catheter after your epidural which more than likely they will. You’ll get an IV first which honestly is the worst part haha! I hate IVs! Then they’ll take you into a freezing cold room to do the spinal but it doesn’t hurt at all. It’s a little pressure and then your legs get hot and numb and they do the catheter, start surgery and you’ll be holding your baby in less than 30 minutes! I requested immediate skin to skin and for them to do all the measurements during that time and not take my son away. I really valued that initial skin to skin contact as soon as he was born.
@inkedsouthernbelle this was helpful. I was looking at belly wraps but weren't sure if they were actually helpful. I have to get one nd remember to ask how they will close me up

I can’t stress this enough but a scheduled c section was the greatest decision I made when it came to how I wanted to deliver. I found the best surgeon who used glue and not staples or stitches, was sure to start walking within hours of being back in my room to release the gas that builds up in your body from being opened up and closed, stayed on top of my pain meds every 4 hours no longer and wore a belly wrap immediately to help with holding everything in place. If you follow these steps and whatever else the dr says you’ll have an amazing recovery. I was in the hospital 48 hours and went to the grocery store and pharmacy 48 hours after that! You could say I rushed it but I felt great and was doing what my doctor said and taking my medicine as directed and I didnt have any issues. I wish you all the best and everything will be fine
U will do fine as a new mom it’s just tiring until u get use to it and the part that sucks is a c section recovery is longer and it hurts like hell to move
