Hi all. I'm thinking about getting my daughter baptised. Me and my partner aren't regular church goers, he's not religious at all but I was brought up CofE and attended church as a child. I'd love my daughter to be baptised at the same church I grew up in but I'm wondering how I go about it? Will I be better off attending a few Sunday services and building a relationship with the church? Or do I go in straight and enquire about baptisms? I'm not sure what to do.
No problem 😊. Yeah just phone them up and speak to the reverend and he'll arrange when to go in and choose the date etc x
@chelsea2018 @kerryy23 @x-t-x @rachaellw @stephiijones123 Thanks girls. I thought I'd have to go in a few times but if I just have to enquire about it and it goes from there I'll do that instead xx
You dont need to go to service.. thats only marriage..
Contact the church and tell them what you want, then the vicar or reverend will come visit you at home and go through dates and everything with you.
They dont cost, but they do ask for a small donation xx
I never went to church service and was never asked to go when I christened my son. X
I had my son christened in the same church I was christened in just before he turned one last year & we’re Church of England too.
In all honestly I haven’t been to church or even got told I had to go for him to be christened, all I had to do was go to a meeting one night in regards of the Christening as there was 2 other family’s having a christening that day. You go again to receive their baptism (I still call it Christening though lol) card at a Sunday service xx
I'm not a regular church goer however I was baptised Catholic as a child (Irish family). My OH isn't religious at all..
My son was Christened at 3 months. I just enquired at the church I wanted which wasnt my catchment I had to ask permission from the reverend at my local church and explain why I wanted it somewhere else. I didn't have to attend any services before hand. They just said that they want you to attend as a family as regularly as possible after the christening.
Tbh I haven't been back since 🙊
My daughters is christened as ChUrch of England we didn’t have to attend any services before I got the priests number off their website rang him and I went in for a meeting he just asked what made me want to christen her etc xx
@clarelushx, I think it’s 5 or 6 services xx
@ezchaz They've been calling it baptism on my churches website but it's Church of England? Xx
@courtniek98x do you know roughly how many services I'll have to attend? I wouldn't mind going to services, gives me something to do on Sundays. But I'd like to know how long it would take me to qualify for a baptism there xx
You have to go to service with your partner so many times before they will even offer baptism hun xxx
Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Birth Plan Rant
I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?

My 5 year old daughter refuses to tell me the truth about stealing and eating my candy all she has to do is tell me the truth and she can get up and go play she breaking my heart but this lying about stuff is getting old
Look I'm tired of everybody bitching at me about drinking Coke or Mt.dew....I drink water and poweraid all week! If I want to enjoy a damn Coke or Mt. Dew on the weekend that's what I'm going to do! I would not do anything that would hurt me or my baby!
There is no difference between a christening or a baptism. Its exactly the same meaning and reasoning, its just different wording. A church of england will christen, where as a methodist church will baptize..
Both believe in the same religion and same god!
