I’m 35 weeks today and I keep getting period like pains. The pain came in the night and keeps coming back during the day today along with back ache. The pain lasts longer than a minute tho so don’t know if it’s braxton hicks. Has anyone had this? Xx
@ezchaz, hiya chic, the paracetamols did the job and the pain went. I rang back up and they think it’s braxton hicks. If the pain was still there after taking paracetamol then it would have been the start of labour! I’m still buying things for baby so I best get more organised!
Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it :) xxx
I rang the midwife and told her what I’d been feeling and how long, she said it could be the start of labour but didn’t know for certain. She told me to take some paracetamol, have some food and drink and see if the pain goes. I’ve gotta ring back in a few hours to see if the pain is still there. Thanks for your advice girls, hopefully the pain will go! Xxx
@emz.earle, I totally understand I would of been the exact same if it felt different to the usual aches etc with pains on/off for a day. It’s better to just get in touch & ask. That way ya won’t be sitting worrying hun. Hope everything’s alright hun let us know how ya get on xx
@x-t-x, @kayteamay, thanks girls, I’ll give the midwife a ring to put my mind at ease. I haven’t felt like this before so that’s why I’m not sure if I should be worried or not! Xx
@ezchaz, I had the belly ache before I went to sleep and it was still there when I woke up. It didn’t wake me up. The ache went on my way to work but came back when I got to work. It’s a bit achey now, i feel like I’m about to come on my period. x
Personally if it was me I’d get in contact with the midwife, just to let her know what’s going on etc that way if she feels like you need to go in to be checked she can send you in. Least ya mind will be put at ease by talking to her.
My Brixton hicks never hurt but I know others who said that when they had them it did hurt, so it could be that xx
Sounds like it could be braxton hicks. They can be so uncomfortable. Also baby is getting really heavy so it will be getting more tiring! If the pains get unbearable and patterned, give tour maternity unit a call x
Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it :) xxx
