When did your doctor start checking to see if you’re dilated? I’m measuring 2 weeks early.. I’ve been having period like cramps and feeling like I need to have a BM.. sometimes I can have one other times I just wait and wait.. and every client I see in my office tells me they’re going to be shocked if I make it to the end of the month. My stomach keeps dropping and dropping too. This is a 5 day difference. I have a doctors appointment on Friday and I haven’t had any checks besides an ultrasound done Thursday of last week. At that appointment it was just the tech so she didn’t say much.
@shelby.wrightx3, aww girl try no to worry your self to much about the cord around its neck. I know it's scary but baby's are often just fine in that situation. My son was born like that. It was handled at deliver quickly with no fuss or complication.
So far not feeling any different but I too worry my self about this baby, so far still breach but we are having an ultra sound Friday to check things out.
With my son my OB started checking at 38 weeks. This time around she's been checking since 20 weeks because I've been having a lot of concerning spotting and cramping.
@paperplane, I’m having pelvic pain and I’ve been losing my mucus plug over the past few weeks too. Have you had anything else going on? I know measuring ahead doesn’t mean anything in terms of development but my Dr ordered my ultrasound last week because of how my stomach is measuring and how low I’m getting. It’s starting to make me nervous 😟 hopefully he can tell me more about the ultrasound too. On top of everything else his cord is wrapped around his neck so I’m constantly worried about SOMETHING.
For my first, my doctor started checking at 37 weeks. I’ll be declining checks this time until I’m in labor because it hurt terribly for me. Plus it doesn’t tell you anything about when labor will start. You could walk around for 3 weeks at 3 cm dilated or be not dilated at all and your water breaks. I wish I didn’t have to get checked at all!
There’s no need for a cervical check until labor is suspected. Measuring two weeks off is not a big deal and means nothing in regards to your baby’s development. Let’s hope your baby stays put for 5-6 weeks.
I want to know the same. I have a dr apt tomorrow I'm due August aswell and I like to be prepaired if they ask to do that tomorrow. It's not going to be my regular dr so...yeah same question
