I'm getting the iud tomorrow and I'm really nervous and scared 😔

It doesn't hurt. The same feeling as just getting a pap smear done.

@andgee24 Well, my personal experience has been awesome. I had occasional period bleeding for 6-7 months after and after that just spotting every now and then. I haven't had a real period in over a year. No weight gain either.

@lovelily Do you have the copper one?? And I have questions about the string part. I've heard your partner can feel it? Is that true??

@andgee24 I have Mirena, not the copper. Yes, your partner can feel the strings but just have the doctor cut the strings. You really don't need the strings. I had mine cut.

@lovelily i thought the string was so they could take it out?? Is it uncomfortable for them?

@spookylyn I'm hoping I have a good experience like this. I've heard so many scary stories about it. But I know everyone is different.

@andgee24 The strings are to check placement but the doctor will check placement after about 6 weeks and they don't need the strings for that. The strings are like wires and can poke the tip of the penis.

@lovelily omg lol okay hopefully they can just cut it off.
