Ladies, how long after giving birth were you cleared to start using tampons instead of pads? My baby boy is 5 weeks this week and my Ob cleared me to use, though my stitches haven’t quite dissolved. Still afraid to put anything in there!

@kambam, what I’ve been doing haha - thank you! Is there a certain brand of cups, or is that something you need prescribed by your doc?
You should definitely try one. But it's always best to not have anything in there if you don't have to. I would probably just use a pantyliner for something light
@kambam, I’ve never tried those! Update: I decided to try a tampon this afternoon. Was ok putting in (so plastic applicator was fine), felt uncomfortable the hour I had it in, and decided to take it out. Removing was painful. I think the cotton was too abrasive for me, at this point in time... I’ll look into the menstrual cups, though right now any discharge is very light so do you think it’s worth it?
@iwannaplay, Oh wow! Yeah, I’ve been curious as to when mine will start. I don’t think there’s a textbook answer, our bodies decide when they’re ready for reproduction again!
Yeah i breastfeed only and got my first at 3m 😒😒 I still used pads at that point though. I use a menstrual cup and they are way less painful.

@iwannaplay, ok! My Ob said I may not see my period for at least 3 Months b/c I’m breastfeeding. I’ve just had really really light discharge/bleeding for the past few weeks. I know everyone is different but I may wait it out a bit longer just to be safe!
@lunachar62, my Ob did a test down there to see how it felt and I felt no pain...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?

I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
You can buy cups on Amazon and there's a couple options at target I believe. You can also get them at natural health stores. Which cup you get is totally up to you, you'll figure it out as you go.
