Any suggestions on birth control ? .. I was gonna go with the depo shot.. anybody on it and what are the main side…

The depo shot was horrible. I gained like 60 to 80 pounds ended up in the hospital like 3 times with back pain. My body was so weak had a hard time walming wothout getting cramps. I had to stop after a few months, only good thing was no periods and after I stoped no period for 6 months. It helped me get lighter shorter periods

I would do an IUD before the depo shot. I've heard nothing but bad things about. Weight gain being a big one.

Depo was awful in the end. At first I loved it and I never had a period and never got pregnant, which was the goal. But I totally lost my sex drive. I’m on mierena now and I love it. Some people are scared of it migrating so I guess the safest is the pill but I don’t have time for all of that.

I initially got on it to gain weight (never did) I had a period for the whole 14 months I was on it.. non stop. I got pregnant after being on it for 14 months.

I have been pregnant 2x in depo shot i definately do not recommend it only last 6 weeks really then the other 6 its waring off

@uniloveee, Boobs are heavy and sore I can barely wear a bra anymore headaches cramping still but no period mood swings are horrible in my opinion I wouldn’t do it and a lot of people have weight gain on it or coming off It

Im on depo it stops my period for 3 months til i get the shot again. Thats really it

Personally never had it but everyone i know who has it hates it mood swings are bad weight gain. I've got the Nexplanon arm implant and i love it. You have to keep in mind birth control will affect everyone differently

My cousin constantly got pregnant on it and her weight fluctuates

@uniloveee, if you’re okay with the weight gain, sure I guess I personally would never get on it again myself.

I gained 80+ pounds on it over a 3 year period , my periods were extremely irregular & my mood swings were off the chain.

I had it and gained ten lbs and was a bitch, cousin had it and got pregnant. I have the paraguard iud right now. No complaints.

I was on it for 10 years. My oldest has been on it for 3. I am going back on it after baby. I loved it!
