@p., Lol that’s cute I’m glad they have a good relationship, our family is really close we tell each other everything, and we talk everyday, we even live on the same land all of us me, my husband, our son, my husbands dad, mom, 2 sisters, and his brother, and his aunt, and uncle, and his mamaw, and papaw so we are all extremely close we always see each other, and we always talk to each other, and walk to each other’s houses I feel like if my husband went on the road it would be hard to keep that extreme closeness that we all have, it would be heartbreaking to see my son want his dad but his dad isn’t around he already works all the time as it is and hardly gets to see us so I think it would be even worse if he went on the road so that’s why I’m praying that he likes being a police officer.

My husband is gone Monday thru Friday and we love it that way it gives us a break from each other and we look forward to seeing each other on the weekends so much....I notice if he's home longer than that we get under each other's skin sometimes but that's just us....lol

My husband gets 1-2 full days to spend with us, so it's almost the same. Just make the most out of whatever time you do get together. It's not that serious.

@amberjacq, my husband has been a truck driver since our daughter was born. He’s always on the road. When he comes home you’d think that he spends everyday with our daughter. She is so close to him. It’s crazy. Once he’s home she don’t need me anymore. She’s a daddy’s girl lol.

@modom16, install extra seating my husbands papaw used to pull trailers and he always had my husbands dad with him teaching him how to pull stuff and how to drive and he had installed extra seating for a car seat.

@p., It would be hard to keep my son away from his dad I feel like they wouldn’t have a close relationship if we didn’t travel with him, lots of people travel with their kids people even live on the road so I don’t think it would be so bad that’s if my husband decided that he doesn’t like being a police officer.

I wouldn't even wanna go, so no way I'd make my child ride. Maybe once my kids are old enough to say if they wanna go or not, I'd consider letting them ride along. I think it'll be torture for a small kid being strapped in a car seat for hours.@amberjacq

@amberjacq, where would you put the car seat? I only remember my dads truck and it had a bed in the back no back seats

@amberjacq, my husband is a truck driver so I know what it’s like being away from him. I still wouldn’t go on the road with him tho. One because my daughter will be extremely bored. Just sitting in the truck for hours and hours and days after days. The space is tiny shell have no space to even walk around. I rather be home with her. That’s just my opinion 🤷🏽‍♀️

@p., I think it’s even harder to be away from your family tho which is why I’d go with him I’m a stay at home wife anyways and our son doesn’t go to school so if my husband ever ended up saying I don’t like being a police officer and then decided to be a truck driver then I’d go with him, people travel with their kids all the time it’s hard to do but it’s worth being with your family.

@amberjacq, taking your family on a truck is difficult. I wouldn’t take my daughter to be on the truck all week.

My husband has been thinking about being a truck driver if he doesn’t like being a police officer but he’d take me and our son with him, my uncle used to take my aunt with him when she was pregnant with her 4th I think he quit that job tho so he could stay home with his 3 steps kids and his 2 boys, I say it’s really hard if you aren’t able to travel with them

My hubby left today and will be back Saturday then leave Tues and will be back Aug 3rd for 5 weeks.

I sort of know how you feel, my husband is in the army. Deployment sucks, have to go 6 months without him. So I know the loneliness too!:(
