I think it's plain silly, immature and even inconsiderate when people say things like "I don't like hospitals, or funerals, or changing diapers"... that actually serve as their excuse for non participating/attending.

I know the things I listed are not in comparison to one another, but I've heard them all before, usually from men. They are factors of life. I don't think anyone enjoys such things.

Call me silly, immature and even inconsiderate, but I don’t like funerals and will do my hardest to not attend them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You don’t enjoy everything in life but you do them because they are necessary. I totally get what your saying.

I think with hospitals and funerals it depends on whose it is... it is unrealistic to expect people to attend a funeral of someone they did not know or have no connection with, same if someone is in the hospital.... it's not only awkward or weird, it's kinda emotional sabotage...

Now if they knew the person and had a bond that would be different

Obviously you know babies are different with the diapers... so I'm not even commenting on that part

What I cannot do, emotionally, are viewings especially for loved ones.. not that I haven’t attended but now that I’m older and have a choice I’ll usually sit in the very back or right outside the room where they’re being held..😪

When my best friend’s mother died, I was invited to sit with her family at the funeral. The funeral was scheduled on my sister’s death anniversary, & I asked my fiancé at the time to please come with me for support. He wouldn’t, because he “didn’t know her mom” & “just doesn’t do funerals.”

I agree 100% with your post.

I also don’t mind going to the hospital for a sick family member as long as I have someone to watch my son because I care more about my son’s health, the only time that I’ll take my son to the hospital is if he needs to go himself or if me or my husband need to go and we don’t have time to take him to a family member who can watch him but I’ll be calling people to come get him because it’s risky for children to go to the hospital when they’re healthy and not sick themselves, my mamaw is a nurse and she refused to let me go to the hospital while I was pregnant to visit my papaw because he had kidney failure so she wouldn’t tell me what hospital they were at because I was pregnant and she said pregnant women, children, and the elderly shouldn’t be here during flu season so I didn’t get to go sadly it broke my heart I cried all night worrying about my papaw, and I don’t mind changing diapers it doesn’t bother me at all lol the smell bothers me but changing the diaper doesn’t because it makes my son happy

I don’t go to funerals anymore but if it’s a close family member and I was really close to them then I’ll go.

@rina414 I actually can relate to that with my grandma - and when it was too late we drive like bats 7 hours away only to miss her by a few minutes. She held on for us as long as she could. I regret not getting down there more and even when I was younger in my early 20's hanging out and didn't visit with her more when she was in good health.

I totally get what you’re saying. I wish I had visited my grandmother more when she was in a nursing home but I was selfish and didn’t go that often because I hated going and seeing her that way. (She had a stroke and could no longer speak or walk) Now that I’m older I realize there are some things you just have to suck up and do in support of those you love.

@dee2115 My opinion is that I feel they are necessary parts of life - I would even Weaver at the funeral part because a funeral can definitely go on with a specific party being present. And I can understand the emotional strain. So apologies if I offended anyone on that.

But some people don't go and it's just as simple as "I don't like them". Who does?

But the hospital to support a loved one - or changing a diaper, I feel are needs...

I've heard of husband's not going to the hospital when their wife is giving birth. Yep I think that's silly , immature and inconsiderate.

Those are my opinions and I feel I should be able to hold my opinion, kindly... Either way I can respect your position but I stand by mine and don't feel bad for my statement.

Well I mean that’s okay that you don’t like funerals, but you’ll still go. I however am not emotionally strong enough to attend some of them.

Some people don’t like doing things, and shouldn’t have to do them without being called silly or immature.

Often no matter how you break down a post, sometimes people read what they want to read and skip over the rest. I never said your are suppose to like anything I listed. My point is somethings are necessary or apart of life, and someone has to to do them - more so these things need to be done to support others.

@doimakeyourandiii That's my point there not enjoyable, heart breaking actually - but sometimes it's necessary to attend even for the emotional support of others around you, thats all I'm saying. No one is like "Yaaaay another funeral I can't wait".

@caiticat. Um who goes to the hospital if it's not necessary??

I also don't like funerals, either. But I will go. No one likes funerals..

My mom died in a hospital when I was six, I witnessed her pain and suffering there. I will never ever enjoy being in one. Nor will I ever like funerals.

Diapers and death though diapers smell like death, do not realistically go hand in hand

What's wrong with not wanting to go to a hospital? I won't go unless necessary. That place has so many germs. Also some people can't handle death and grief the way others can. I see nothing wrong with not wanting to go to a funeral.

Transgender children So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do u think the parents are behind this? Idk because I haven't met the parents or children. I just think at 5 it's very young for children to really understand. What do u ladies think?

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

I don't think she gets it.

I don't think she gets it. I swear sometimes I just need to renew my policy to not look at the comments in Facebook. I never used to. I don't know why I started. But the ignorance is real.
