So I need some career advice ladies! I'm seriously thinking of going back to school but trying to find a good field to work in is the biggest issue I'm having!! 😞😞
Like I'm considering beauty school for a hair stylist or nail tech but don't know about the financial stability behind that! And the only other work experience I have that has any career backing was home health 😞😞 but got reslly sick so had to quit.
Ugh the struggle is real!!
@tierraaelizabeth thats so freaking awesome :) thats what I kinda want to do eventually or have a small business going out from home maybe
Follow Nunis_nails on instagram. He teaches about the financial part of doing nails, as well as giving instruction on doing nails. He’s self made and honestly people will pay money if you do nails well. Same thing with hair. Both of those things requires continuous education though to make the most money. I’m a cosmetologist, and I think it’s worth it. I have realized that there are many people that do not report what they do make on their taxes (fraud), because all of the stylists I know make a ton of money. I’d say go for it and get your cosmetology license because there’s literally so much you could do. It covers hair, skin, and nails.
@demonmuffin19 I really don't think it was hard...I'm trying to think back that far. It's deff a sacrifice in the beginning but it's well worth it. I even own my own salon now and I'm still in my 20's
Thank you ladies for all your imput really helped me ease my stress you all are the best
@tierraaelizabeth was it hard to go about getting into? Because ive alwayd wanted to talk to someone who did it for a living who has kids and there thoughts on it
@kambam yeah, there are so many beauty shops and such around where I live at thats why I thought it would be a good career move because I really enjoy doing make up/hair/ etc.
And i didnt have much of a life when I worked in home health care made good money but wasnt worth it in the long run.
I say - do what you enjoy more and you will see the benefits. The biggest thing about beauty school is it's a high initial investment and if you aren't resourceful you will be paying it back for a long time. My sister is certified thru Paul Mitchell and she's very successful but she could be more so if she was smarter.
Nails are hard because family run Asian shops are hard to beat because they do good work at a good price.
If you mean home caretaking: it's always high demand but too much work for little pay. My mom does it and she doesn't have a life.
I would speak to a career counselor or school counselor they can gather your interests and help you hone in on something final.
@breezy81516 ahh okay sounds like what I did at the old company I worked at
