@niki664 You can dilate before you're in active labour. You can walk around for weeks at 1cm, 2cm, 4cm even. 9cm is active labour and is very different than being dilated before labour starts.

@niki664, you can dilate and not be in active labor - that doesn’t mean your baby is at risk
