Any suggestions on what I should bring for baby girl's going home outfit? It will probably be 90-95° out when she's here in August.. I'm scared to under dress her or over dress her! 😔
Dress her like you would dress yourself. This was probably the best advice I was ever given. It is a misinterpretation that babies need extra clothing. If you're comfortable wearing dress, she will be as well :)
I put my baby in a onsie & inside the hospital she was covered in a long sleeve socks , mittens , beanie.
You dress your baby in what you're comfortable in PLUS a layer
Dress her for the air conditioning. The hospital will be cold. The car will have probably been running to keep it cool and I’m not sure about the AC in your house. Remember, baby will only be outside for a few minutes to the car and then from the car to the house.
Also a hat and socks. My doctor told me they have a hard time regulating their temperature when first born.
I agree with @wvmommy, something light would be fine and for comfort could bring a super light blanket.
I was just telling someone yesterday that one of the best pieces of advice I received years ago was to dress your baby in what you would wear in the weather. I think a simple onesie would be fine.
You can always add layers! I would do what the other mommas said. Dress light and add a blanket if need be. I personally like receiving blankets because they’re light. You could always throw on a couple of those. On the way home from the hospital, I sat in the back with my daughter so I could monitor her.
