Anyone have or had reflux/GERD it cause issues with eating and swallowing? OB prescribed Prilosec how long before it helped the issue!!! I’m so hungryyy!!

I think it took a week or so on the meds. I also changed my diet too. I avoid anything with red sauce like pizza because I noticed it makes it worse. Also citrus fruit like oranges. If I skip a pill I start feeling again so it's something you have to take every day
@cburnham90, OMG!!! Me too I’m so sick of it!! So glad i got something to help with it!!! When were you able to start eating normally again?
Yes! And I had this constant feeling like there was something stuck in my throat and would choke sometimes when trying to swallow

Me! I lost 15 pounds in beginning of this pregnancy. Never had it before. Doc prescribed protonix and it's helped so much
@jerseymomx2, oh gosh!!! That sounds absolutely awful! I have GERD as well but my iv told me today it can cause the issues I’m experiencing in some pregnant women
due to increased amounts of progesterone. It sucks!!
Think prilosec dosent take that long to kick in i always wait at least 30 min . Ive had acid reflux since i was a baby
I have GERD , But mine doesn’t cause issues with eating or swallowing ... i just have very bad heartburn to the point I throw up and sometimes blood comes out ... they said I was slowly burning away my esophagus from all the acid && eventually I would need surgery.
@cburnham90, definitely going to take them EVERYDAY!!! Spaghetti has been a craving but I’m going to stop eating it lol. OMG I’m so excited!!
