Mommas I need opinioms and views, please! So, my pup came home today after staying with a friend for a little while. She said that her youngest had given him some scraps of grain (which he can't have) and that's why he was having some hair loss. But the loss is in only three spots on his back, hair has started growing over them so it looks like they have been there for awhile. Before we knew he couldn't have grain he had had reactions but never hair loss on his back. It was only on his legs and paws from scratching cus it itched. There's none anywhere else. The weird part is one of them is a perfect J. Does this seem shady/sketchy or am I overreacting?

Maybe one of her kids noticed the hair missing and started pulling hair out? Does your dog always tuck his tail in between his legs when you hold him like that?
Mercedes Stoddard·
@amberjacq he's never has a tail fucking issue before he left. Ever. Around anyone or sue to anything. In this case it may have been because he was sitting and every time I tried to get the photo he would turn around so my fiance picked him up. He sits with his tail under him so it may just be because I got the picture in the process of him getting up.
Mercedes Stoddard·
@tinyhumansbitch I sure hope not. We are going to get him checked though.
Mercedes Stoddard·
@tinyhumansbitch okay, thank you!

@honeyxxbee thank you. We are going to call the vet in the morning and have them tell us if she thinks we need to go in immediately or wait a few days with us watching him. Either way we are going in no late than Friday to have him checked.

@gorgeousmay42217, Oh I see, I was just asking because my moms dog (Sophie) she tucks her tail when she’s in pain so I thought maybe the area was possibly sore, my mom would put baby powder on Sophie to help with the hair loss that she experienced and it helped I don’t really know how baby powder helps but it did (the smell drove Sophie crazy but it helped her) so maybe you could give that a try, I know every dog is different but it could be worth tryin maybe? My mom would also put Neosporin on there if Sophie chewed on that area because Sophie would itch that area, and cause her skin to get irritated even worse, and cause it to bleed so my mom would just pop some Neosporin on the area, and then wrap her butt up with a bandage wrap to prevent her from licking, and chewing on the area, my mom had to do everything for Sophie because Sophie wouldn’t let anyone else do it she’d only sit still for my mom. Me and my mom used to rescue animals, and we’ve seen hair loss a lot in dogs, and sometimes it from yeast, or stress, or from not being taken care of properly (which I’m not saying you don’t take care of your dog I’m saying the dogs we rescued weren’t taken care of because they were from the street and didn’t have a home) and also sometimes the skin in that area just gets really dried out, and that can cause hair loss also there is lots of reasons for hair loss in animals, I think your dogs hair loss will get better once you get to the bottom of what’s causing it, what type of dog is he? 😊
Mercedes Stoddard·
@amberjacq I am sorry, for some reason I did not get a notification for your comment! Thank you for the baby powder advice. He is a boxer/pit/lab mix. Majority boxer. We aren't sure if the hair loss is another thing but we discovered there was a lot more going on wrong while he was there, she was straight awful to him. She basically fed him and made sure that he didn't go potty in the house. It wasn't decided exactly what was causing the hair loss because there was so much else going on. He attacked for the first time ever today so more signs more happened. We were told our best bet is to keep treating him well and taking care of him and waiting it out.
Amber Jacq ·
@gorgeousmay42217, that is awful!! 😱😨 I would be so angry! Maybe his hips could possibly be bothering him my moms dog is a boxer/lab/pit bull mix as well (mostly lab) she was a rescue and she would attack too she broke my moms foot by biting her foot because she thought her foot was trying to get her food, and she bit my brother in the face because he was trying hug her and cuddle her but she was in pain because she has bad hips but my little brother didn’t know she was in pain or he wouldn’t of hugged her or got around her face to hug her, and then once she laid down with my brother and he started petting her and she bit his hand and ripped the skin completely off his ring finger it was awful she also attack one of our cats, and a few different dogs she was jus a very aggressive dog and most of the time rescues are aggressive from being mistreated so you think physical abuse might of been involved?
Mercedes Stoddard·
@amberjacq I do think there was abuse going on and neglect. His nails were so long they were curling and one of them even broke off, he had raw patches (beyond just losing hair), they were feeding him both grain and dairy which we were very specific to say he was not to eat because he's allergic, she blamed it all on her "potentially autistic" 2 year old, she gave us a chain choker and said that the reason he had it was because he became an escape artist through his collar and harness which is absolute bull and we were testing everything and put the chain on him, it was huge, the only way she was using that is if she wrapped it rightly around his throat. We started asking her all these questions and she got defensive and said she was done with us and blocked us from contacting her.
Mercedes Stoddard·
@amberjacq We got him as a rescue with no issues, he was with us with no issues around all people and animals and even my friend's two disabled boys and he never showed anything but love to anyone. He was good with all dogs, cats, the hedgehog. He had to stay with someone I thought I could trust so we could move and get our life arranged and we got him back having all these issues.
Amber Jacq ·
@gorgeousmay42217, That’s so awful I hope he gets better I am so sorry all this happen to your dog and you, I hope he starts gaining trust back for people because it’s really hard for animals to gain the trust back of people, that is very suspicious behavior to block you and be defensive so something obviously had to of went on that she doesn’t wanna get in trouble for
Mercedes Stoddard·
@amberjacq exactly, we are making a bunch of calls later today to get as many more professional opinions as we can to see if we can get any advice or help to work on it with him. We have thought of calling animal control on her because I know she has another dog and a cat in that house with 1 kid of her own and 4 foster kids. Just to check and see if she is treating the other animals okay or if there are risks, like maybe something happened and he bit someone else and she just didn't tell us that either. Not sure if we should call them today about it or not.
Amber Jacq ·
@gorgeousmay42217, I would to be safe especially when animals and kids are in the house, I hope you can get as much help as possible!
Mercedes Stoddard·
@amberjacq I most likely will as soon as they open in the morning. Thank you! Hoping it will all sort out.
