Hahaha yes!! I think it has to do with coming through the metal plumbing if it hits your house. Also it will go through windows, happened in my neighbours kitchen. My childhood house was hit 3 times. Came through the phone line. Blew all the appliances. My moms childhood phone actually exploded and blew off their wall when they were hit.
