Has anyone had any bad things happen after getting tubes tied? Any real reason not to do it "so young" OTHER than wanting to have more children later on? I do not want to have more kids. That is for suuuuure and I will not fall under the 60% of women who regret it. But any other reasons why not do it?

I was just bout to ask this.....I’m scared but I know for sure I am absolutely done

@mommie_4 My doctor let me sign the form today but said she will still try to convince me not to, even during my c section she said she will ask me again if I am sure. But you have to have the form signed for 30days before the procedure, so she let me sign it today.

@mommie_4 I am only 23 and this is my 2nd baby.... But I am 100% sure that I do not want to birth any more children. I would love to adopt in the future and could open my heart and home to more children. I just do not want to go through this ever again. I don't care who I meet or what happens. This is it for me

I would be concerned about the body changing.. idk im so sensitive with hormonal changes and things. Id be worried my periods would be crazy or my hormone levels would be out of whack...just something paranoid like that 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

My doctor talked me out of it ectopic pregnancies are more common in younger women after they get their tubes tied and it can create hormonal imbalance. I just decided to go with iud
babymay2016·
@vvrobinson @tyrellp Hmmm I just have read too many horror stories on IUD's and I can't handle the hormonal imbalance on any type of birth control. I tried a couple different things and it just caused me to be angry and in pain

I had my tubes tied and I have the hormonal imbalances now and the very long heavy bleeding periods as well as very painful and migraines and such it’s pretty bad

I had an iud after my first pregnancy for 5 years and it worked great for me. It cleared up my skin i lost wieght and it stopped my periods. I cant take the pills and the nuva ring made my skin break out to bad.

@babymay2016 oh i understand that. Bc fucked me up big time. Took me a year to get to a healthy state before having my first. Not doing it ever again

Had my tubes tied in February after my second child was born. I'm 29 and know that physically my body cannot handle another pregnancy/birthing due to medical problems I have. For me, nothing has changed. My periods are exactly the same as before. I'm not noticing any hormonal changes. I've been on hormonal birth control most of my life, so not having to take anything and not worrying is awesome. My mom tried to talk me out of it because she experienced some tough things after having her tubes tied, but I discussed that with my doctor and she said that the risk of repeating what she's been through is slim. I'm happy with my decision thus far.

My mother got pregnant with me after getting her tubes tied at 22. I’m not sure how true it is because my background is not in GYN but I was told that the younger you are the more likely they are to come untied. 🤷🏽♀️
babymay2016·
@babymamaof4 That scares me 😞 did you have those problems before? I have had bad migraines and heavy periods since I was 12yrs old.
babymay2016·
@tyrellp The nuva ring gave me terrible terrible pain in my bottom right abdomen... I would have to stop my car and pull over, like random pains feeling like somebody is stabbing the life out of me. I took that thing out and threw it out the window. Still had the pains on no borth control until I got pregnant again. I am scared of the IUD getting lost and lodged somewhere else in my body.

@vvrobinson I just really don't eant to ever be pregnant again, and I am SURE of this. After baby I want to take a real step in my mental health and want to find a medication that works for my depression and anxiety. I don't ever want to be pregnant again. I wanna be here for my two boys and if some day I find a baby to adopt that is great, but don't wanna BIRTH em
babymay2016·
@techie_grrl My mom had hers done right after c section which is what I plan on doing... She didn't have any problems with it. I just mentally can not handle another pregnancy and after this baby I want to take a real step for my mental health, find a good medication for me, so I can be here for my two boys. My biggest fear is finding the right one and having to stop because of pregnancy.
babymay2016·
@kalidream I feel like I would be more okay with it, if it still happened years and years from now even after having tubes tied... like it was meant to happen that way... But I know for sure I don't want any more babies. Not now or ever. I love my kids and kids in general and would consider adoption, but the PREGNANCY..... Not for me. I hate it

Yeah nuva ring wasnt good for me either. Mirena has been the best one that has worked for me. I had it for 5 years before it never came out of place or bothered me i forgot i even had it after a while.

@babymay2016 it sounds you have truly thought this out. I'm sure you'll be just fine. 😊

I had my tubes tied during my c section when I had my baby girl last September. So far nothing has changed for me. Period is the same as it was before I got pregnant. Lasts the typical 5 days and no more pain with it than I normally have. I haven’t noticed any hormonal imbalances either. I’m no more moody than I am any other time. Lol I do not regret my decision.

@raquely, your doctor was misinformed.
Lanie Jay·
@raquely, you should do some research on post tubal syndrome - I believe that is the term.

I got my tubes done after my daughter and my periods are so out of wack still it’s crazy but everyone is different

I'm very happy with my decision on getting mine tied

I'm 23 now and got them tied at 22

@babymay2016, nope didn’t have any issues until I had my tubal done

I'm not saying this to be negative but my friend got pregnant with her third child after having her tubes tied. Its very rare but it does happen. The tubes can come untied. Burned can still grow back. The only way to ensure you won't get pregnant for sure (and what about if you get married in the future and things change because your perspective can change?) I would use an IUD or other protection and make your partner use a condom as we'll.
