FINALLY after 105 days with no period, my doctor has agreed to prescribe provera! Anyone ever used this before? Did it work for you?

@raqueliiosiis, oh wow you had the nexplanon too!! I think that was the worst decision I could’ve made unfortunately.
Raquel·
@devd92, thanks it was a struggle and a lot of crying and yelling at the Drs lol but we made it happen. I also read up on your previous post and I will say I too had the nexplanon for all 3 years and it was hell to get my period. Good luck! I hope the provera works for you!
Devan Davitz·
@raqueliiosiis, that’s good for you to be an advocate for your own wants and needs in your healthcare! Good for you
Raquel·
@devd92, thank you! Yes it was such a miracle because we had already been told that we would only be able to conceive with IVF. You should talk to your doctor, I will warn you I had to do a lot of lab work and a few different paps to finally be diagnosed with PCOS. I read up on it and metformin seemed like the most logical thing for myself.
Devan Davitz·
@raqueliiosiis, oh my gosh that’s crazy!! How exciting though!!
Raquel·
@devd92, we had been trying for almost three years with no luck. And as cliche as it sounds we had given up when I went on metformin. We never prevented it but I stoped temping and charting and I stopped the OPKs. After 8 months of being on metformin it happened on it’s own. Honestly I didn’t even think I was pregnant I just thought I probably needed to up my dosage because my period was late but my husband convinced me to take a pregnancy test.
Devan Davitz·
@raqueliiosiis, oh wow really?! That awesome! So it took you 8 months to conceive then? Or did you try prior to the metformin?
Raquel·
@devd92, sorry I just saw this and no it didn’t help at all. THe metformin is what helped me. In the 8 months I was on metformin my periods came every single month and once it didn’t come it was because I was pregnant.

Yeah, infertility sucks
Devan Davitz·
@gaga123, oh really? That’s horrible. I’m
Sorry!
gaga123·
No, I have stubborn PCOS! So I used provera to induce a period then use femera and injectables
Devan Davitz·
@gaga123, that’s awesome! Did you stay on a regular cycle after taking provera?
gaga123·
Yes every time within 3 to 6 days after
Devan Davitz·
@gaga123, and it’s brought your period every time?
gaga123·
Yes I have, a few times now
Devan Davitz·
@gaga123, have you used this before?
gaga123·
Ummm when I finished all 10 I started having sore boobs, other than that not really
Devan Davitz·
@gaga123, oh wow how exciting! Did you have any weird side effects?
Devan Davitz·
@raqueliiosiis, so the provera didn’t help, the metformin did?
gaga123·
I just finished my last pill on July 5th! Now I’m waiting for the bleeding to start!!!
Raquel·
I went 142 days without a period once and was given provera to get my period but since I wanted to have a baby they only had me do it for a month. After that I went on metformin because they told me I had PCOS after 8 months on metformin we finally got pregnant. Idk if that’s what you’re wanting but that’s what worked for me.
