@mariapb when you go to the UK and deal with them over there, most of the time they will completely disagree with that fact... it's like saying that somebody from Canada is an American because we all live on North America the continent... plus they've been to many wars and fights that have gone on between each country that most of the time to call a Scotsman a Brit and start a fight!

@kaytibug2009, I’m Scottish, living in Scotland. With an English partner. Yes there’s history between the English and Scottish but it doesn’t change the fact we’re all British by nationality and that nationality and race are different things. It’s not like calling a Canadian an American because those two are different nationalities, Britain is a country made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, we are all British.

@mariapb Scotland used to be its own country therefore its own nationality. Ireland is its own country there for its own nationality. There was a reason that the two countries went to war all the time and that the last Queen of Scotland marry thought her cousin Queen Elizabeth of England so much. Because they were two separate countries.

Northern Ireland is part of The United Kingdom. What used to be is irrelevant, the fact is that we are all part of the United Kingdom and are British. Again race and nationality are different things. Please don’t try to preach to me about the actual country I am born and raised in. Yes there is history as I’ve said but harking back to wars from hundreds of years ago does not change things as they stand now. The referendum has been and gone, Scotland is part of the UK, the same as England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

@mariapb did you not read the post I made or did you just stop when I talked about being half Scottish half Irish... I'm not talking about it's just my heritage. I'm talking about the fact that I was born in Glasgow to a Scottish father and an Irish mother... yet somebody said I was racist because I was white and it's in my blood!! As in referring to the fact that I now live in America and apparently and racist because all white people in the south in America used to own slaves and therefore I am a racist. So the whole point of bringing up the past Wars was kind of important if you didn't catch that part. Because obviously you didn't.

@kaytibug2009, no I did read your post and was pointing out that you can’t be racist against a nationality. I was actually defending you. The fact you’re half Scottish/Irish just means your British, a nationality not a race. So the wars are irrelevant in a race argument, unless you were fighting in them yourself which you obviously weren’t.

@mokimbo I'd like to know how I benefit from being white when I've had to do nothing but struggle my entire life fighting and working my ass off for anything and everything so I fail to see how the color of my skin that I couldn't even help having defines me being able to benefit from anything. My own in-laws don't like the fact that I'm white.

Don’t feel bad I’ve been told I’m racist against Hispanics when I’m Hispanic lol. I didn’t know that was possible. My husband has been called racist too for being a white male. Little do they know he came from French immigrant parents from Canada that spoke no English. We are also raising our daughter that is half black. We also have friends of all ethnicities. People like to play the race card during arguments. I just don’t get it.
