Morning everyone, hope this is the start of a very productive week.
I am not a first time mother, I have a 2 year old.
I’m currently 40+2 and since 3am I’ve been having pains right in my abdomen and sometimes lower back, pain comes and goes. I’m not sure if it’s contractions.
With my daughter my water broke and 2 hours later I had her but this seems to be different. I haven’t been able to get much sleep because the pain is unnoticed.
I tested positive with GBS and have to get antibiotics during labour once my water breaks. I don’t know if I should call triage and see if I need to go in as I am not sure where’ve this is contractions or not and want the try and get the full 4 hours of the antibiotics before I have the baby.
The reason I’m saying no one should think I’m stupid is because I’m not sure if these are contractions or not.
Because your gbs+ id call and see what they want you to do, second labours can progress very quickly trust me, my first labour was 27hrs and my second was 2hrs! Also are they getting more intense or does the position your in change them at all? X
@zhara01, I had the same problem when I was pregnant with trying to find someone to have my toddler. I would ring triage first and just see what they have to say. If they want you to come in just explain you will need to find someone to have her and they will be very understanding x
@kayteamay, thanks, I do want to call and get checked but I’m with my toddler and will have to try and get cover for her before making any calls in case they tell me to go in and when I go in I’m scared they won’t let me out lol
