Our 2nd baby shower was today...it was fun though I have to say...only a couple items were bought from our registry...we got mostly baby clothes (and mostly 0-3 at that)...looking at spending $900 now to buy all the stuff we need still! 😢😲🤤
Shop sales too. Like Target this week is giving a $30 gift card when you buy $100 in baby items. You can use coupons, and cartwheel app to get the price down.
The main necessarys are
*crib
*crib mattress
*crib sheets
*carseat
*baby monitor
*bottles
*wipes
*diapers
*few blankets
*baby wash
*baby lotion
It looks like your a ftm, just try and really think if its a real need or not. Youll need the extra money once baby is born.
@heilwife317, nice! That’s the one we were looking at too. Seems like a good one. Thanks for the second assurance! We did an amazon registry too for family outside of state and they stuck to the registry, so happy about that. This is our first baby too so I don’t know what stuff we need or just want haha, it’s confusing. Will be better for the second one around!
@newlyironman to each his or her own. :) We are doing a diaper pail for in the nursery and same goes for a laundry basket. Our baskets are all divided already (we have 4 in our closet for each color/division) and I will be washing the baby clothes in the all in one washer dryer we have upstairs which does smaller loads and our personal laundry downstairs in the regular. That is the plan for the swaddle blankets...we just have none. And our travel system is actually cheaper than buying them separate.
@trich006 Yeah we had an Amazon registry. Didn't have any clothes on the registry (I would say don't do it). Yeah I will see if I can figure out where they came from. The baby monitor is infant optics Dxr-8 on amazon (amazons best seller right now). We actually already got it and I have to say we absolutely love it already (currently use it on the dogs and when babysitting testing).
I’m a thrifty kind of girl and what helps is yard sailing or thrift stores. Some things you can upcycle or just clean up to fit your needs. I know some things are best to buy new but getting some used stuff could save you a bit of money and make it easier to buy the new stuff.
@heilwife317 diaper pale isn't necessary, hell I don't use a separate laundry basket because she gets changed wherever. I'd only get 1 thing if swaddle blankets. Some kids hate it. Car seats can be inexpensive if you don't get the travel system
@heilwife317, did you provide your registry? I’m keeping limited on 0-3 months clothes because the baby could be larger, who knows! Maybe you could exchange some clothes for different size or return some. What baby monitor are you guys looking at? I was just looking at them trying to decide which one to go for.
@trich006 Yeah I agree. It adds up but with this being #1 We didn't know what to expect as far as purchases. I mean we got 1 package of diapers, a bunch of clothes, and the 1 big thing was a boppy pillow.
We didn’t do a baby shower mostly because I don’t know many people in town but also so can buy the stuff me need. I know it ends up being a lot but big purchases are just good to be bought by yourself anyways.
I would return some of the clothes, even if they only gave you store credit you could use that to buy what you still need.
@newlyironman baby monitor, car seat, stroller, bottles, diaper pail, laundry basket, swaddle blankets, owlet safety monitor (yes I know this is a more expensive item that some don't seem as a necessity but we do), bath tub, etc. It just all adds up!

Well after we lost our angel babies on Father’s Day and then our D&C July 6th it appears we have our rainbow 🌈 We got a positive OPK on July 24th 10 DPO today!

As we laid our precious baby boy down to sleep, our hearts ached. We still have questions and don't understand why this happened to our sweet innocent baby boy. What we do know is one thing. We are LOVED! God has surrounded us with gentle hands of comfort to help us get through such a hard time in our lives. We couldn't be anymore grateful for the friends and family we have. Baby Dakota is safe and sound in the arms of our Heavenly Father. He had a purpose so great that we can't even begin wrap...
I wish....
There was a place all of us could bring our May babies to play with each other, so our babies could have some great friends, like we all have in this group :)))

We had to have an emergency csection...my baby was born at 26 weeks at 1lb 12.9ounces...please keep our baby girl Charli in ur prayers!!
❤️Getting to know you❤️
Since our May group is growing strong and we have a lot of new mommies joining and sharing their bfp's...Thought it will be fun to get to know each other as we all share our pregnancy journey!
@momzillaof3 we truly haven't ventured far from that list.
Diaper pail, laundry basket, owlet monitor, and stroller are really the only additions besides pants, jackets, mittens, socks, hats...as we truly got basically all onesies 2 pairs of pants and one parka vest looking thing (I didn't know you put that on a little guy).
