3 week old newborn... exclusively pumping... oversupply... prepregnancy weight.... additional 5 lbs gone... winning
@rebecca33, oh ok. Sometimes you have to increase the amount you normally take. 8 bottles is a gallon. So it sounds like you are drinking about that if not more. Maybe try the lactation tea or cookies... and increasing amount of times you are pumping. If you aren’t able to pump at least twice at work... increase the amount of times you pump at home. This sends a signal to make more milk.
@lizology27_bb all I drink is water me alone goes through a case of water in like 2-3days
@rebecca33, this is my third child and my second time committing to pumping exclusively for a long time. I’m not a stay at home mother either. My last child, I did this for 6 months and had enough left over for 2 additional months. I set a schedule... as soon as I got to work, I pumped. During my lunch, I ate and pumped. I left work immediately and pumped as soon as I got home. It was still every 3 hours for the most part except for when I got home.... it was at 4p so I pumped and then pumped again at 6pm. My personal belief is if you want to do something, you do all you can to make sure you get it done. I would recommend that you increase your water intake so that you aren’t dry. And nurse/pump as often as u can to bring the supply back up. Good luck
@lizology27_bb I wish I had the time to do that I work and i pump when I can there and right after I get home and feed her then I'm dry it seems
@scruffy.nerf.herder, thanks so much! It truly does. Especially when it’s in the middle of the night and LO is still sleep.... I’m still sleepy myself but I take the time out to pump, store, clean before laying back down. Even though he could wake in the middle of pumping or as soon as my head hit the pillow lol
Great work Liz! I pumped from the beginning with mine too due to latch issues (sometimes he could nurse and sometimes couldn't). It takes dedication and a big time commitment. I think you're doing fabulous!!! 👍👍👍
@sirdonte18, you can do it!!! Nurse when u can, pump when you can.
My son is 10days old I'm so worried about losing my supply because he has jaundice and I've been doing nursing and formula. Because my milk wasn't coming in yet. I only pumped a few times and missed a day of nursing because I wasn't feeling well.
@rebecca33, @sirdonte18, I’m on a schedule so I pump every 3 hours. If LO gets hungry, hubby warms up a bottle and I nurse until the bottle is ready. Then I pump. My schedule is 12, 3, 6 and 9. If I miss a session (bc I was sleep or something), I’ll pump immediately and then pump again at my next schedule pumping. I still hydrated. I drink 16 cups (1 gallon) of water each day. Basically, before a pumping session or after a session,
I drink 2 cups of water.
I'm so jealous my daughter is 5 months and I don't have a stash even close to that
Holy milk bags! Go mama! And congratulations 🎊🎉
@lizology27_bb do you know any good recipes for lactation cookies? I don't like the tea haven't found good way to make it suggestions? I have it on hand like 4 boxes of it
