So I just noticed this on the back of my child’s head. Idk what it is and I doubt his father is going to tell me what it’s from either. Not the best pictures, but the best my child would let me do :/

@amberjacq, @pettybetty, honestly ladies idk! His dad said he doesn’t know. I’m going to call his doctor just to have her check it out cause it concerns me especially if his dad is claiming he doesn’t know what it is. I’d rather get a medical opinion just to make sure the area is ok and not infected or anything from whatever.

@missjess, men usually do lol that’s what they always go straight to
they tell every one at LCA that heat is the most important part of the process. It is important to heat up the scalp often to make sure it is not a suitable living environment. Use a hair dryer daily (on dry hair) doesn't have to be scalding hot. Can be on low heat, key is just heat. Blow over head, at scalp not end of hair, just enough to heat up scalp and base of hair. This will also dehydrate eggs and not allow them to hatch.
@pettybetty, so do i! My head is itchy now just thinking about all this stuff 😞 I’m thinking of calling his doctor tomorrow just so she can check it out and tell em what she thinks it’s is since he will probably play dumb. But my son hasn’t been itching at it at all. I didn’t even notice it till we were outside in his pool and his hair was wet and his back was to me. Last night I didn’t notice during his bath but his back wasn’t really facing me. I noticed like a little scratch but I didn’t see the whole back of the head like that! My first though was some kind of bug. I hate bugs and his dad is dirty and god only know what’s kind of conditions my son is in when he’s there.
@missjess doesn't look like bed bugs or scabies. Scabies is typically in straight lines. And bed bugs are most of the time round, flat bites. Almost mosquito bite like, but flat. I have bug paranoia lol
@amberjacq, I gave him a bath with his normal soap I’ve been using since birth last night. And if his baby had lice and he failed to
Mention it I’m going to flip out! His daughters have brought it up here from Texas before when I lived there when I was pregnant! He is suppose to tell me any kind of thing like that. And I have a feeling when I ask him he’s going to play dumb like he has no idea what I’m talking about 😠
@missjess, Lice could also be a possibility it is goin around my inlaw’s have it and are treating it because they got it from vacation bible school, maybe try putting some coconut oil in his hair just in case it’s from lice because coconut oil kills lice and just in case it is irritation/dry from soap or something that was used on him it’ll help moisturize the area
@pettybetty, I looked through his hair and everything I haven’t seen anything. He has a scratch in his ear too but his finger nails were a little long when he came home cause god forbid his father cut them. But my son never sits there and scratches his head so if he was scratching he must of had a reason too. That or some kind of bug bites. Which I’ve already been thinking bed bugs, scabies god only knows. ☹️
@missjess I would be super cautious about it then. Check nape of neck and behind ears really well just in case. May not find bugs, but any eggs left behind will be the problem IF they are there. I volunteer at the local LCA (lice center of amercia) during the school year so they can have free clinics. I've learned a lot there.
@pettybetty, omg I’ve already put his clothes away and everything. And trust me I know we went through a giant lice ordeal when I lived at his fathers when I was pregnant. It was awful 😩
@missjess 8 days is more than long enough to get it, notice it, and treat it. My suggestion just in case is to thoroughly look thru hair and throw all clothes and anything soft/fabric that was with him (if it can sustain heat) in the dryer on high heat for a while. Just in case. Worst case scenario I know, but I've seen it happen.
@amberjacq, if his father even ever gave him a bath idk what kind of soap he used.
@pettybetty, he has been with his father for 8 days he just returned him last night so I have NO idea and he definitely wouldn’t tell me!
Any possibility that babe come in contact with head lice? Lice tend to gravitate towards the nape and can be very itchy. If so.... And he treated, the medicated shampoo might have caused extra irritation.
(Just a suggestion bc working in child care centers i have seen this scenario a lot. Not at all a judgment comment)
Looks like heat rash that he was scratching at
