These renters here are so extra “ sure ima gonna give you all this land plus it’s fenced in but hell no you can’t have a pet “🤨....HOW now. Ok Ik not every rental place will allow pets but how smart is it to rent me a home with a fenced in field (not to mention that use to be farm space) but I have to give my dog away....sir you must be smokin dicks 🙄 I’m so over Kentucky
Such is their right to deny. Hopefully people who really need animal support can get actual legal protection though. This is more an issue of the current housing crisis than ESA rights to me though. Depending where you live, I'm in an awful state/county. But I totally get what you're saying. @queenmeeks
@kambam a lot of landlords and rental companies are up on the game now, so even more are denying ESAs. It’s become an epidemic and those that truly have a need for an ESA are getting screwed.
Of course they can! It's literally just a written and signed suggestion. Mine worked in the past so I always say it's worth a shot and I have a big ass pitty that renters hate @queenmeeks
@kambam not necessarily. A rental company or a landlord could still deny an ESA because often they aren’t trained to do a specific task like a service animal. Lots of people just go online and pay for an ESA designation to try and keep their animals when they truly aren’t doing anything for their owner except being a normal domesticated pet.
It's not the same but had she got it beforehand it can work. I don't know many rentals who take pets, little to none. It's better to keep your pet if you can. Idgaf if people dislike ESAs it doesn't affect anything. Don't like something, rally for change within your district @queenmeeks
@kambam, this advice is why people dislike ESAs so much. Besides that, ESAs aren’t protected under the law like service animals so this is bad advice.
@cassie.ann, naw hse shouldn’t have lied they do that a lot here about the homes
He showed false pictures and stuff we got there and seen truth and he never said no pets till I seen the home and was upset ✌🏾
Landlord IN Kentucky here. I don't allow any type of pet, ever. If the home is "worn out" and "shitty," as you say, then why agree to rent it?
Sounds to me like you wanted the home until the landlord said no dogs, now you're mad and downing the house. Shitty house or not, worn out house or not, it's still the landlords decision and you have to respect it.
Does your lease say pets are allowed? A pet can have the best training and destroy things. Training doesn't help pets with anxiety. I get that pets are family, maybe try finding a different rental and see if you can break the lease. They may require you to pay the rest of your lease though.
@avasmommy03 people can control their dogs, but they’re still animals and animals destroy things. Dogs mark, dogs dig in the yard, dogs can destroy fences, carpet, and walls. I’m sure there’s a landlord that will allow you to have your pet, just ask them as soon as you get in contact with them.
@raqueliiosiis, first off he didn’t say no pets even after I told him we had one he got shady on us so goodbye I can complain if I feel ✌🏾
Your renting someone’s home if you want to keep a dog then buy your own house. Simple. I don’t understand why complain about not getting to keep your pet when I’m sure when you applied to rent they told you no pets.
I have plenty of animals myself... but do not allow tenants to have pets of any kind in our rentals. We don't even allow fish tanks over 25 gallons. My property, my choice.
@queenmeeks, people control their dogs you won’t have this problem but I’m not giving up my pet because a renter despises animals when he’s never even had one I’m pup is well trained ✌🏾
@kbbaybee16, and not all dogs destroy my dog is well trained been live with us and doesn’t chew anything but his squeaker and we’ve been in that home for a very long time no here most of them are just rude they present you shitty homes then tell you to accept it ...nope no ma’am
@kbbaybee16, but to present a worn out home with a huge backyard is not acceptable then told me I godda get rid of “it” talkin about my fur baby and i got him together very quickly they are terrible here
