My mom and aunt constantly buy me clothes that are way way way too big... and are offended when I do not want to wear…

My mom keeps trying to overplay my size too.. she doesn’t mean any harm, but it does hurt my feelings

@newmock Even when I was 12yrs old I would get something in a certsin size and she would make me get a bigger one! I always looked ridiculous. I am a grown ass woman and if I hear "don't you think you need a bigger one" one more time, I'm gonna lose it! No I don't need a bigger one. Anyways my mom and aunt got me a dress that is super cute but it's GIANT. I could wear a large but it's a 2XL. Yes I like the dress, no I am not ever going to wear it unless they exchange it for the correct size. I hardly have any clothes that fit me and it's not even anything is too small, it's too damn big! At this rate I will never ever "outgrow" any clothes.

@babymay2016, I’m sure you look awesome! Just keep the tags on and go exchange them if you know where they picked them up at! It’s hard when the people you love the most make you feel bad about yourself, intentional or not. I found a dress I loved for my shower after a struggle to find one and my mom was like “that’s going to be too small.. yeah it may fit you right now but your shower is 3 weeks away and it’s not going to look good then”.

Tell them directly, "I like more form-fitting clothes." Hopefully they will take the hint. If they don't, couldn't you take the clothes back and ask for an exchange? Most stores -even without receipt- can give you an exchange for the right size.

My grandma does this it drives me insane 🙄 I usually just take it and donate it cause I’m never going to wear it

Just tell them thanks but it’s the wrong size and u can’t wear it IT DOESNT FIT just make sure u tell them u don’t want them wasting there money on things your not going to use. They have to understand why will u wear something that doesn’t fit u, I don’t think they would.

Take them to go try to exchange for the right size. Most of the time if you tell them someone else bought them for you so you dont have the receipt they will let you exchange.
