Do any of you have epilepsy or your child’s father have epilepsy ?
I do, the nuerologist said the chances of passing it to baby are only .25% though. So, I'm feeling relieved. There should be no issues as long as everyone who does is on their meds and taking care of themselves. Lack of sleep, too much screen time, strobe lights and missing medications are typically the most common causes to onset seizures/have breakthroughs with meds. As long as meds are controlling them there are rarely problems.
Lack of sleep in one of the most common triggers for epileptics, so now that you know that, you are already learning to manage. =) Also, tons of folks have gotten some relief or even full management from cbd oils and such similar products... I'll just leave that comment there before the judgment squad comes running... ;)
@crissie22, I’m pretty sure lack of sleep and being really cold triggers his seizures. I never planned on keeping my baby from him, cuz he has another child that the mother keeps away from him and I see how much it hurts him. It’s just sad listening to other people’s especially my family’s negative opinions about the situation. He doesn’t just go into them. He’ll have warning signs and has been able to call me home before having one. It’s just all the negative that get to me
Right now we’re seeing him a neurologist to figure out why. But as of right now they can’t figure out why
I know that when he was younger he used to have tremors but his family didn’t know what they were so he never got them checked out. Last year, he had his first actual full blown seizure.
Seizures can be brought in by many different things my 2 yr old have them but his only triggers when he’s too hot his could be brought on by stress or discomfort or even a child hood memory seizures are considered massive shocks to the body or a loop who
In which the immune system and nerves are not communicating so when you
Figure out why he has them you could figure out how to stop them and don’t keep him away from his kids cause that ancause stress and send him into one as well baby girl stick by your man encourage him to hold you kids and play just stay alert and look for signs like blank stairs major stiffness or moments of memories loss them are signs one is about to come
Do they know why they just started? Was there a head injury or something..? Most cases have unknown causes, but it's random that he just started having them. Do you know what type his seizures are classified as?
That’s reassuring to hear. He started having them about a year ago so this is all still new and trying to figure out how to live with them
People can be so shitty. First things first, fuck what people think or say. Obviously, you guys will want to take common sense precautions, especially if he has grand mal seizures in order to prevent things like baby getting dropped... but you learn to manage like most other things. I'm a sahm and I've been here with my kids while hubby was working and I had having clusters or multiples more times that I can count and everyone is fine. I've never dropped my baby. I experience auras which gives me a split second of realization just before and gives me time to sit the baby down, step away or sit down, in almost 14 years of being a mother we've never had an epilepsy related injury to me or my children.
My significant other does and we’re about to have our daughter. I’ve gotten really rude comments about letting him be involved with her because of his seizures... how do you handle your kids with your seizures?
@sydneykay12, thank god
