Here’s how my night usually goes..
Screaming and crying begins around 7 pm and she wants to nurse. Stays latched for about 5 minutes rarely longer than that.. proceeds to continue screaming and crying. Within 20 minutes, rooting and sucking so I nurse again, repeat of the same scenario, and she continues to scream and cry. She acts as though she doesn’t even want to nurse though when I try to latch initially, won’t take any brand pacifier but she wants to suck on something. Eventually she wears herself out and settles for a second.. only to wake herself up again crying and screaming.. this goes on for HOURS. I am at such a loss, I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I’ve tried everything. No nurse or doctor or LC has had any helpful advice. Some nights are worse than others and clearly tonight is that night.. we are going into the 4th hour now with no end in sight and I am feeling completely hopeless about continuing to breastfeed. I will never forgive myself and only feel like more of a failure if I have to stop but damnit I just wish someone would tell me what I need to do!
@kelvinsmommy, yeah I have an appointment this morning to ask about reflux and get her checked out so I am desperately hoping to get some answers. I haven’t done anything special girl, I always produce a lot and I don’t know why 😅
@babyjjsmommy, oh wow 😪have you asked your pedi?
Also , what are you doing to get all of your milk ?
Go sit in a warm bath with her cover her with a towel and try to nurse there skin to skin in warmth is the only way my daughter would latch
Babies ♀ I know you're busy and you already have a child but sometimes they can just sense any stress. If you've ruled out ties and reflux then she's probably just hard to soothe.
Only other factors are fast letdown or waiting too long to nurse. Then they get worked up and hard to calm.
I went thru that with my son where if he was fussy for boob it was already too late so I started feeding when he was calm and not over his hunger threshold.
Try different holds/positions and nursing in a wrap.
Sorry, those first few months are hard.
@kelvinsmommy, girl it’s been in since day 2, I’ve got a deep freezer over half way full of milk. Supply isn’t the problem and I have no idea what is 😭😭😭😭
Is your milk completely in ?
Same was happening to me , I am pumping now to see if I can get milk and will continue to pump won’t breastfeed anymore. I bought formula and have been giving my baby that starting today and I see a big difference already.
When I pumped today I gave him the LITTLE that I got first and then the bottle of formula
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
sitting in a parking lot crying is not how I wanted to spend my night...she isn't latching anymore but she will take her paci with no problem. Guess I'm gonna have to pump and bottle feed
So I'm having some late pregnancy worries... What if cant comfort her? What if I don't know why shes crying? Like say we're out and shes screaming and I just don't know what she wants!! That thought scares the shit out of me!
So my baby is 8 weeks old and is thriving with weight gain each doctors visit. So here is my question: around 4-5 hours at night for sleep she wakes up every night and sucks on her thumb. (She finally this week likes it to soothe her during nap times) her eyes are still closed and she moves around and sucks it. I wake her to feed her. My question is should I just let it go? And see if she is just soothing herself to sleep? I don't want her to stave by morning if she sleep a couple of more hours...
It's my burfday and I'll cry if I want to ....cry if I want to🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊! Haha no crying in the literal sense but man the times flies !! Anyone wanna guess how old I am today ?
@babyjjsmommy, I hope your appointment goes well , and damn ... that’s good as hell !
