I have a 6yr old step son. I have known him his whole life but we never really bonded (complicated relationship situation where my husband and I weren't really sure about dating seriously so we didn't try to force me as a mom figure). I don't know what to do with boys even though I had two younger brothers (I never really bonded with them either). And at that time in my life I didn't want kids. Custody is 50/50. I wish I bonded with him more, I try sometimes but I can't emotionally get on board. 🤷‍♀️

I have a 16 yr old step son met him when he was 12. Its suppose to be 50/50 custody but his mom now rarely picks him up. Its only when she wants. He has always acted weird when we are all together. Like when my boyfriend and him are alone he talks but when i come around them he gets all quiet, then my bf leaves and he tries to have full on convos with me. Its confusing and its been hard for me to accept him as my own. I love my bf too much so i never tried leaving this relationship fir that reason. 😐

Yeah I do. He was seven when we first met and it was hard.... but now he is 16, we have bonded and he has been a great help during my bedrest. But it was a journey LOL!

@kiki221, not really! He’s 2 years old & he likes being around me he even calls me mom 🤭 we only see him on the weekends
